About the neighbourhood
Kodiak, often called the Emerald Isle, is the second largest island in the US. It's famous for the Kodiak Bear, which is an overgrown brown bear (grizzly) that can be as large as a polar bear. In addition, we have visiting whales, eagles, fox, deer, buffalo and many more animals to see. There is a large fishing industry here...the Deadliest Catch might ring a bell. People come here to fish and hunt and roam the lush surroundings. History buffs won't want to miss Fort Aberchrombie. The largest Coast Guard base in the country is located here as well. Overall there is lots to see!
Getting around
Kodiak is a small island with much to see. A rental car is a must in my eyes to allow one the freedom to see all it has to offer. Taxis are available and some concessions will pick clients up and deliver them back. There are no buses or other sources of public transportation. Give me a call for rental car recommendations.
