Truly, this is a beautiful, incredible Lodge sitting in the most unique location. Real WOW factor here. It has a beach on both sides, one of those being world famous Oke Bay.

You'll love the all day sun and from the front deck, sweeping views of the entrance to the Bay of Islands! Huge deck at the back for entertaining. Large lawn area for playing.

Dolphins often come into Oke Bay and many a visitor to Oke Bay Lodge has swum with them.

If you are into walking you won't be disappointed. There are many interesting walks: old whaling station, Kauri forest, sunken ship wreck, and many other shorter walks in and around Rawhiti. Once you are there, and you settle in, believe me, you won't want to go anywhere else! But if you do...

Reviewed 12 December 2016 for a stay in December 2016

Paid deposit on 12th July 2016 for our December holiday and the owner cancelled 1 month before our arrival.

Management response:

Carolyn submitted two different booking dates which confused us. This resulted in a double booking which meant we had to cancel her booking. Carolyn's "dishonest" label is simply sour grapes. Read our other reviews and come to your own conclusions.

I recently stayed at oke bay lodge for 5 nights, what a fantastic and special place to stay. When we arrived the owner was there tidying the garden he was very welcoming and informed us of all the excellent amenities available, his cleaner was just finishing off from the last visitors and kindly made us all cold drinks, the house was very clean, tidy, gardens facing the bay.Lodge was spacious and all rooms comfortable,,the rooms with sea views outstanding, what a way to wake up each morning !kitchen and dining areas excellent, outside decking area ,perfect for dining with great views of the bay in front, especially one morning as we were having breakfast a pod of orca whales arrived in the bay, feeding for about 45 mins !!
A little walk to the bay behind the house, revealed a lovely secluded beach, colours of the sea amazing. Also a great place to start the Cape Brett walkway, right next to the lodge. The owner rang us a couple of times to ask if everything was all ok,which was nice.

Management response:

Hi Linda, thank you for your generous review. Having a pod of Orcas turn up is pretty special. Usually it's dolphins, so you were extra lucky. You left the Villa beautifully clean. Thanks for that. We'd love to have you again any time. Hope the rest of 2016 turns out to be fantastic for you! All the best :) See...
