Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.

Peaceful, full of character.
Stumbled on this gem by accident when browsing for a few days accommodation in Doolin. Sometimes, you just get lucky. This is a long, thatched house with three generous bedrooms, all ensuite. Cosy lounge with solid fuel stove to compliment the main heating system. The TV even has Netflix, if you fancy a night in before the fire. The house is situated in a sheltered hollow at the end of a narrow lane, surrounded by mature gardens including a deck, with outdoor furniture. It's wonderfully peaceful, a great place to escape from the world for a while. Inside, as well as the bedrooms and lounge, there's a generous and well equipped kitchen. There's also a washing machine and a drier, plus of course an outside clothesline to take advantage of the Atlantic breeze. If you're looking for a conformable house to rent near Doolin, you can stop looking, you've found it.

Wonderfull stay at Rose Cottage
At the end of the long and winding road lies the astonishing Rose Cottage, perfectly situated on the very verge of the Atlantic coast with stunning views to the Cliffs of Moher and Connemara further off. The House is tastefully decorated and with great amenities: We appreciated the 3 en-suites as we were a group of 5. Fine communication with the owners and thoughtful welcome package with wine & fruit. Close by is the possibility of walks in the limestone covered Burren with wild flowers and other sights. Doolin + Lisdoonvarna with pubs and music is also worth visiting. Treat yourself to dine at the neighbouring Ballinalacken Castle Country House Hotel, the host might invite you to visit his private 15th Century tower. Thoroughly recommended.

Thatched Cottage
My stay at The Thatched Cottage near Doolin could not have been more enjoyable. All of the amenities were as advertised. The beds were especially cozy and the kitchen was suitable for preparing simple meals. The location down in a beautiful valley surrounded by limestone hills and lush pastures with lots of cattle and horses was of particular delight. The only minor drawback was very spotty WiFi connectivity. Our host, Joseph was a charm! Not only did he provide all he promised, but his recommendations for places to visit and eat was spot-on. I would recommend this place to anyone and hope to return myself on day.

Charming farmhouse in beautiful country
The thatched cottage was a lovely place for a relaxing break near Doolin, Lisdoonvarna, the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren and Co. Clare generally. Joseph could not have been more helpful, friendly and obliging.

Weitläufiges Bauernhaus in traumhafter Abeschiedenheit

Perfect stay in Doolin!
We just arrived home from a 10 day family trip from Ireland, and I can't say enough of our stay at the thatched cottage! The house was beautiful, consisted of 3 bedrooms , each with it's own bathroom and shower, a wonderful kitchen and dining area as well as a beautiful living room , very rustic as pictured in the rental photo. Cathy and her family members were wonderful hosts during our stay in the Doolin area, providing us with any information that we needed , as well as suggestions of what to do and see during our stay here. The location of the cottage was a short drive to the village and local pubs (McGann's Pub was wonderful!!!!- great food, great local company, and great music!) The Doolin area is simply beautiful with rolling hills and pastures and outstanding views of Galway Bay! And there's so much to do! The Mountain View Horse Riding Centre offers a number of trail rides that vary in length of time and terrain(from mountains with views of Galway Bay to horseback riding on the beach) Peter, the owner of the Centre was wonderful! (We chose the 2 hour trail ride during out stay) The Cliffs of Moher, golfing, and hiking activities are all within easy driving distance from the cottage as well as surfing in nearby Lahinch.I We had a wonderful stay at the thatched cottage and the Doolin area, we'd love to visit again!

charming cottage in a wonderful locaation
Great cottage with all mod cons. 3 excellent bedrooms all en suite . A super location for a base from which to explore the wonderful attractions in Clare . Cliffs of Moher , Bunratty . Arran Islands , Ailwee caves etc all within close travelling distance . Our teenagers enjoyed the caves and the bird of prey display and also a visit to the "Father Ted " house with Ted Tours . Good local shops in Lisdoonvarna which is only a few miles from the cottage. We had a great time , nothing negative to say - just GREAT .

Charming home away from home!
My husband and I traveled with 3 adult children. The cottage is modern, clean, and spacious yet cozy. It is located in a beautiful, scenic area with rolling, green hills near the ocean. It included all the amenities we needed except wifi which we understood before booking it. We solved this by using the wifi in local pubs and purchasing a portable device before we traveled. The owner was very attentive to inquiries I made ahead of time. We met her in a nearby town and she led us to the cottage which was in a beautiful rural area. The location near Doolin gave us the ability to experience wonderful day trips along the west coast from charming towns to breath-taking scenery. I wish we could have stayed longer!
