Although the house was clean and mildly serviceable there were some serious deficiencies during our stay, April 22 through April 30, 2019. When we checked out I attempted to bring some of the problems with the hot water to the owner's attention but she was not interested and said everything was fine, which was not the case. Owner speaks very little English and communication was a problem. We were unaware at the time of booking that this house is marketed to Germans and seems to cater to them. All instructions for appliances and lights inside the house were in German only and TV and books were also in German. We were expecting an Irish experience, not a German one. Be prepared for additional charges when you check out, which are not disclosed in the posting. These include fee for internet and electrical use. Electric is charged above the KWH rate in Ireland by a substantial amount from. what I have been able to determine. The internet service is very spotty and does not work half the time. Be prepared to get scalded when you try and take a shower because there is something wrong with the hot and cold water despite what the owner says. Although we booked and paid through VRBO the property management attempted to impose an additional fee by charging my credit card. For what I do not know since we had paid in full when we booked. The owner attempted to charge a service fee when we checked out that I flat refused to pay since we already paid the service fee to VRBO. Needless to say we will not be returning to this properrty in the future.
