The Hayloft nestles in lovely gardens just below Stanton Moor and the Druid’s Nine Ladies Stone Circle, with the use of a 3.1/2 acre private paddock with free-range chickens – lovely brown eggs available with that long-forgotten flavour!

The Hayloft is a completely self-contained luxury apartment approached by its own stone steps and overlooks the quaint and colourful south-facing courtyard full of various cottage garden plants and climbing roses with an abundance of wild birds. Me and my partner stayed here for 5 days from the 25-29th of June and it was lovely , the apartment was just right for what we needed and there was two gardens to choose from to sit in , as we had beautiful weather...More

Lovely apartment set within a beautiful courtyard and gardens. Great views. Perfect location for 2 people who want to get away from it all for a break. Would definitely go again.

About the neighbourhood
The Hayloft is situated about half way between Matlock and Bakewell, a little off the beaten track but not isolated and is an ideal base for walking holidays and exploring the dales and peaks of beautiful Derbyshire and the Peak District National Park.

Matlock and Matlock Bath sit on the edge of the Peak District on the banks of the River Derwent, and are former spa towns. There is plenty to see with the former spa now used as council offices for the surrounding area and Riber Castle high on a hill was built by Smedley who introduced the spa to Matlock.
