About the neighbourhood
Bakewell is a small bustling market town perhaps best known for its famous Bakewell Pudding. Idyllically situated on the banks of the river Wye, with its iconic medieval five arched stone bridge and quaint courtyards the biggest town in the Peak District National Park benefits from a number of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. It has a park (with play area for children), a public indoor swimming pool, numerous riverside walks and country strolls and even its own old house museum. Alongside the popular weekly Monday market and livestock sale there is also one of the best farmers markets in the country held on the last Saturday of every month.
Getting around
Bakewell has an excellent bus network, most bus stops are within 5 minutes walk from the property. Local railway stations can be found within a 30 minute car journey in Matlock, Buxton, Grindleford and Chesterfield.
