Region: Visitors to the Cotswolds have long treasured memories of charming towns and villages built from the famous honey-coloured stone, it now boasts a thriving community of contemporary artists working from studios and shops throughout the area. Town: The tiny village of Ruardean Hill is situated on the northern edge of the magnificent Royal Forest of Dean, England's largest oak forest and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The forest offers numerous trails that can be explored on foot, by bicycle or by horseback. Caving, abseiling and a high wire rope course are on offer for the more adventurous, whilst fishing, golf, kayaking and canoeing are other popular activities in this unspoilt area. The owners are lovely people the cottage is an old building and the steps reflect that. We have stayed 5 times and love it. Very peaceful and relaxing. Always found it clean and comfortable. A great place to get away and unwind.
