Features include a vaulted beamed ceiling, under floor heating, and is furnished to a high standard. Compact and bijou

Herb Cottage is perfectly located to explore north Norfolk. It is an ideal base and is situated in the quiet village of Gunthorpe. We visited Holkham Hall which is stunning. Wells next the Sea, Hunstanton and Cromer were also lovely seaside towns to wander round....More

Perfect retreat

Perfect setting to get away from it all!

We’ve had a wonderful week in this quiet, beautiful setting. Andrew was a great host who gave us a very warm welcome to this part of Norfolk. This is one great location to get away from it all, then Leave relaxed and refreshed. Thank you.

Peaceful but well located

Lovely place to stay

Romantic weekend

We just got back from a long weekend stay in Norfolk. Very tranquil and pretty. Cottage was perfect. Clean, tidy and had everything we needed. Will definitely be using this cottage again.

About the neighbourhood
The North Norfolk coastal area is one of outstanding natural beauty. Holkham Bay is simply one of the finest beaches in the U.K. Do visit Morston Quay for a trip out to Blakeney Point to see the seals. Morston Hall is a must for foodies. Michelin star dining so book in advance. Blakeney Quay is a delightful place for an ice cream, to go crabbing and coastal walks. Wiveton Farm cafe as seen on Normal for Norfolk on BBC2 is well worth a visit. You've seen the programme, eat the food and buy the glasses! Book in advance. Holt is a stunning Georgian Town, Christmas is stunning. Numerous national trust and stately homes are close. For twitchers, Pensthorpe is also very near too.
Getting around
A car is essential, but we'd recommend the steam train on the Poppy line from Holt to Sheringham.
