Ideally located. The Beamish Valley is a beautiful area with a picturesque setting, woodland walks, the Sustrans Coast to Coast cycle path and the Tanfield Steam Engine Railway. Beamish has easy access to the north east coast and the A1 which will take you to many unspoilt sandy beaches where enjoyable days can be spent at the Heritage Coast exploring the many historic castles at Bamburgh, Warkworth, Lindisfarne and Alnwick where Harry Potter was filmed. Lindisfarne the home of Christianity where St Cutherbert spent many years merits a full day with its ancient historic sites, while the World Heritage site of Durham city is 20 minutes drive with its historical cathedral and river walks and continues St Cutherberts journey to his shrine. How to get there
Easily accessible for A1M motorway 10 km. From either the South or the North, exit the A1M at Junction 63. Take the A693 towards Consett and Stanley for approximately 6 kilometres. Take the first turn on the right into Beamish and then left onto Station Road. After 100 metres turn right into Abbotts Walk, Woodlands View is at the bottom of the cul de sac on the left. From the West take the A692 through Consett then the A693 through Stanley towards Chester le Street. At the roundabout sign posted for Beamish Museum, take the second exit and remain on the A693 for approximately 400 metres. Turn left into Beamish and then left onto Station Road. After 100 meters turn right into Abbotts Walk, Woodlands View is at the bottom of the cul de sac on the left. Via train use either Newcastle Central Station (18 km) or Durham Station (19km)
