This recently refurbished luxury apartment in Villa Azalee is in a magnificent position in front of the lake, in Verbania. It consists of a fully equipped apartment, independent entrance, completely new and modern furniture; it offers a beautiful view of the lake and its islands. Private parking place. The apartment is part of our villa, itself surrounded by a private garden (azaleas, maple and pine trees, rosemary plants..) in Verbania Suna, a romantic place, still at six-to-ten minutes walk (day time: dark in night) to the shore, to attractions, shops and supermarkets. The rooms: two bedrooms with queen-size double beds, each room with bathroom and shower. The apartment comfortably sleeps four people or up to six people considering the sofa bed. Upon your arrival, you are welcomed to receiving the keys, having a look at the comforts of the apartment and getting all informations about everything related with your stay and your trip. A consistent part of our garden is reserved to you. Being long time travelers ourselves, thus having experienced hospitalities in many countries around the world, we trust we may have a fair experience, so we truly hope to be up to meeting the needs of all types of guests and everyone is welcome into our place. You may meet us again at the end of your stay, but please never hesitate to contact us at any time. We speak fluently these languages: English, French and Italian. We can also answer in German, but we're not fluent. The apartment is at 45 minutes drive from the Malpensa Airport and at less than 10 minutes to highway and to railway station, where trains run from, to Milan and its now famous Exposition. You can very easily drive to Milan's Expo in less than an hour from here. We may come to pick you up at the train station or at an airport, but if you come by car (recommended to take full advantage while visiting our lakes and/or reaching Milan and the Expo), parking will be free and safe. Milan and its Expo are at less than an hour drive. Reaching Swiss border is a 30 minutes drive. In minutes, on the lakeside, you're at a beautiful free access sandy beach, a swimming pool for a fee, a tennis place, bars and restaurants. A pleasant walk of half an hour along the shore is worth it to visit the world famous Villa Taranto with its plants and fauna from all over the world. Another option would be to stop at the pier at half way, from where boats leave for trips to the Borromeo Islands (the islands in front of us) and Intra, Stresa and Baveno. From Intra (also at walking distance from home), you may be tempted to cross the lake by ferry to reach Varese or take a trip to Locarno in Switzerland, famous for the film festival which takes place in August. Stresa is famous for its eighteen century romantic hotels and for its festival of classical, baroque and ancien times music. If you should like trekking and mountains, the villa has direct access to the hiking trails where you can discover several enchanting villages, as Cavandone or Cossogno. In Stresa, you can take the cableway up the mountain Mottarone and then down again to Lake d'Orta and the Sacro-Monti place, which is a UNESCO world heritage. By bicycle, you can take a bike path and reach either the small lake of Mergozzo or the romantic lake of Orta or Fondotoce with its golf ground and rowing facilities. Another option would be to go to Arona for an important round-the-lake tour around Lago Maggiore (not for everybody). This is a nice and quiet apartment in the villa uphill, in front of the Borromeo islands. The apartment is fully equipped with drinks and basic food on arrival. Quiet and privacy are guaranteed. Barbecue or parties forbidden. Access to the apartment is by a lane with stairs. Only one single pet is accepted. No pet toilet on lawn at any time. No smoking inside the apartment at any time. Kitchen area is small and equipped with only two infrared burners.

best place out of four that we stayed on this trip
