The building, situated in the heart of Pistoia between Piazza Della Sala, today home of a charming fruit, vegetable and flower market, and the charming Cathedral Square (Piazza del Duomo) is surrounded by ancient churches, monuments and museums. All the services are close by restaurants, bars, shops, buses and train station. Pistoia, a hidden jewel in Tuscan crown, is very well connected by public transportations to all Tuscan’s sites and is a perfect starting point to visit this wonderful Italian region. “La Sala” property is made of two completely restored apartments: Vittoria and Virginia.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

This is a lovely, well-appointed , bright, comfortable and clean flat which more than lives up to the photographs and description. It is on the first floor (30 steps) without a lift. Its main advantage, however is its wonderful location , right in the middle of the three inter-linking squares that make up the heart of the old town of Pistoia. From the living room window you look down onto the squares where there are fruit markets by day and lively bars and restaurants in the evening. However the flat itself is very quiet and peaceful, certainly with the windows closed. On Wednesday and Saturday morning you can step out your door into the middle of a huge market which fills the centre of town. Just around the corner is the Piazza del Duomo which has a beautiful cathedral and Baptistry and is the location for many events. Pistoia is a beautiful little town with lots of interest for art and architecture lovers and plenty of good bars and restaurants. Titti picked us up at the train station and was very helpful and easily contactable during our stay. The station is about a 15 minute walk from the apartment or you can get a local bus from behind the Duomo. There are frequent trains in several directions. We took the train to Florence (40 mins) and to Prato (15 mins) and really enjoyed the latter which is an assuming town with some great artwork. It was interesting to see the surroundings of Pistoia which are covered with nurseries especially for trees. Pistoia does cater for tourists but it is a world away from the hustle and bustle of Florence and feels like a real, lived-in Italian town. It is the Italian City of Culture this year so hopefully this will attract more visitors to this hidden gem of Tuscany.

Grazie mille

A clean, well-furnished, air conditioned one bedroom apartment in the center of the old city of Pistoia. The apartment owner, Titti met us at a service station at the outskirts of town, and guided us to the free public car park located a brief walk from the apartment. She drove us and our luggage to the apartment and gave us a walking tour of local shops and restaurants in the immediate area. We visited during Pistoia's music festival. We attended a concert in the main piazza. With the duomo as a backdrop, it's a beautiful venue. The apartment was a great home base for day trips to Florence, Ravena, San Gimignano and towns throughout Tuscany. We enjoyed our stay in the apartment and found Pistoia to be a hidden jewel in Tuscany.

We stayed in the Virginia apartment for a week, using Pistoia as our base for day trips to Florence (30 mins), Pisa (45 mins) San Gimignano (1 hour), Vinci and various other parts of Tuscany. Couldn't ask for a better appointed apartment - all facilities are on hand and Titti provides a great welcome. You're also right next to the fresh food market stalls of Pistoia - and the restuarants, cafes and old town square (a hidden gem). Not staying in bustling Florence was a real bonus - we were able to visit the city easily, but escape to a more sedate 'home' location. I highly recommend - you won't be sorry!

We recommend this comfortable, spacious, well-appointed apartment in the historic center of Pistoia. Sig. Titti was most accommodating, even when we arrived almost three hours after we expected. She met us, took us to the car park, then with our bags back to the apartment. In addition to orienting us in the apartment, she gave us a little tour of the neighborhood, showing us restaurants, places to buy foods, and the immediate sites. The apartment is in the historic center, a lively area both day and night. It is very comfortable for two, or for a small family, since access to the bathroom is through the bedroom. It is well-appointed, with lots of pictures on the walls and color-coordinated upholstery and drapery, and plenty of closet and shelf space. There are lots of windows on two sides, with shutters so that one can get ventilation with privacy. There is air-conditioning and a satellite tv with a dvd player (which we did not use). The location is excellent. The apartment is a minute walk from the Piazza del Duomo. There are numerous shops and a produce market virtually just outside the door. In addition, a variety of bars and restaurants are in the immediate vicinity. Pisitoia itself is very interesting. The train (about a ten minute walk from the apartment) to Florence, Lucca, Prato, or other destinations is quite convenient. Parking is also about ten minutes away, but we didn't use our car much because the train was so easy to get to. We recommend this apartment without hesitation.

About the neighbourhood
Set under the Appenine mountains, Pistoia is a tourist mixture of history, art, folk traditions, monuments, nature and gastronomic specialities. Surrounded by beautiful countryside of hills Pistoia has many monuments to visit. Pistoia is home to buildings and churches from several art periods and the most beautiful of Pisano's pulpits, whose extremely accurate and realistic bas-reliefs anticipated the perfection of the Renaissance statues. Duomo apartment is located in the historical centre of Pistoia, a few steps away from the Longobard Piazza della Sala, today home of the most colourful fruit and flower markets and the impressive Piazza del Duomo (Cathedral square), where it is possible to admire buildings which symbolize civil and religious power in the city: the 13th century Palaz...
