The property is yards from Largo beach and has open views over the Firth of Forth to Edinburgh and the Lothians. We are located in the picturesque village of Lower Largo in the beautiful East Neuk (corner) of Fife, Scotland. The village is famous as the birthplace of Alexander Selkirk (the real Robinson Crusoe) and is located just 10 miles from St Andrews (the home of golf). There are two pubs within walking distance offering traditional Scottish hospitality and the region features a host of high quality attractions and eating places including 3 Michelin starred restaurants within a 15 minute drive as well as award winning fish and chip shops. For the more adventurous Edinburgh is an hour away and can be accessed by train using stations at Markinch or Kirkcaldy which offer free parking and we are an hour from Perth the gateway to the Highlands. Please note we can only accept bookings that start on a Saturday and have a duration of 7, 14 or 21 nights. In light of the ongoing Covid 19 Pandemic we have been working hard with trade and tourism bodies to create a brand new cleaning and disinfecting protocol which we will implement between each guest. We are now accreditded Good to Go by Visit Scotland. This extra cleaning and disinfecting has changed a few things as follows:- To allow for the extra time required to properly prepare the property we have changed our arrival and departure times, arrival will not be after 17.00 with departure now requested to be before 09.30 on day of departure. We have removed a number of decorative items from the property as well as books, DVD's and games, to replace guides and local information we have created an online house book, details will be e mailed prior to your arrival. We will also only be making up beds to the number of people in the party. Further details will be e mailed to you prior to your arrival.More

About the neighbourhood
The East Neuk of Fife is a beautiful corner of Scotland that is often overlooked by travellers who pass by on their way north. We would encourage you to visit this little gem in the ancient Kingdom of Fife as it is blessed with rugged coastlines, sandy beaches, forest walks, abundant famous (probably the world's most famous) golf courses and ancient universities as well as castles, manor houses and pre historic standing stones. Fife is also a producer of much fine food and drink with distilleries such as Eden Mill Gin, and Kingsbarns, working fishing ports like Pitenweem and Anstruther delivering fresh seafood to its tables.
Getting around
The village is conveniently located on a number of local bus routes that will take you to the coastal villages or to St Andrews. Why not walk the coastal path to Elie and catch the number 95 bus back to Lower Largo. We are 13km from Markinch railway station where you can catch direct trains to Edinburgh, Dundee and Perth all of which are less than an hour away.
