La Bellaziere has been entirely renovated, starting with a 200 year-old farmhouse. It now comprises a house for six (with three bedrooms upstairs in the former hay loft) and the former barn which houses a swimming-pool and a separate apartment for two, complete with its bathroom and kitchenette. A couple occupying the apartment will be very close, but independent. The octagonal swimming-pool with secure access has views to the countryside and is heated from beginning of April to beginning of November (to a minimum guaranteed temperature of 26°C (80°F) - more often at 27 or 28), but the gite is open year-round and we have installed solar panels and heat pumps to make it energy neutral. We are a little over two hours from Paris, but La Bellaziere is in the countryside ! No close neighbors, only some local cows may show some curiosity … 50 meters from the gate starts a local walking path “Le sentier du Bel Air” which will lead you past superb views changing according to the seasons.The Sille lake and its man-made beach (swimming, nautical activities) is very close, so is the beautiful site of 'Les Alpes Mancelles' (rock-climbing, canoeing, and St Céneri-le-Gerei, one of the most beautiful villages in France). Bagnoles de l'Orne (spa) is only an hour from us as is Le Mans and its 24-hour race. But even closer, you'll enjoy the superb new museum in the Chateau of Mayenne, the Gallo-Roman ruins of Jublains, the medieval fortified town of Ste Suzanne or the caves in Saulges. Whether you wish to enjoy a quiet retreat, or explore and burn your energy, La Mayenne has secret charms. Come discover it !More

About the neighbourhood
La Bellaziere is in the countryside, but amenities are not too far... It will take you less than 5 minutes by car to go the village of St Germain, with its bakery. or you can take a shortcut and use the walking path. Villaines-La-Juhel (10 minutes by car ) has a good supermarket which sells local produce, a pharmacy, bars, restaurants etc., so does Sille-Le-Guillaume, in the opposite direction, with a nice restaurant which we recommend!
Getting around
You need a car! We are about 15km from the Sille-Le Guillaume railway station and an hour's drive from the TGV station in Le Mans.
