Please note that Rose cottage is in the Village of Kilnwick and not Driffield. The location team are in the process of enabling Kilnwick to be chosen as a destination. The village is 7 miles (10 minutes) from Driffield. Rose Cottage is a quintessential old farmers cottage dating from the 1850s with its beamed ceilings downstairs and log-burners in the cosy sitting room and dining areas adding to its charm. It has two double bedrooms upstairs, with the remainder of the accommodation being on the ground floor, which comprises of: Fully fitted kitchen, dining area with log burner, bathroom, cosy sitting room with log burner. Currently there is no TV but I'll update this listing as and when I do put a TV in the cottage. There is free wifi and a Bose sound system that you can plug iPods,...Please note that Rose cottage is in the Village of Kilnwick and not Driffield. Kilnwick is a small little village. the cottage has a long garden at the back which faces due East and catches the sun all day, where you can have breakfast outside as the sun rises, listening to the birds, and not much else. At night you can sit out and have a glass of wine under the Milky Way, listening to the owls call across the village. There is virtually no artificial light here so once your eyes accommodate to the dark the night sky is breathtaking. The charm of Rose Cottage is the tranquillity of its setting. Nestled in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds the village of Kilnwick is steeped in the peace and quiet of the countryside. Buzzards, Ravens, Kestrels and Hawks wheel overhead during the day, and as evening falls out come the owls. The landscape is undulating with a lovely mix of wooded areas and fields, all of which provides habitats for a wide range of wildlife, much of which you can both see and hear. If you want to explore the area, York is only 30 miles away. Fraisethorpe beach is 21 miles and 35 minutes away by car. A long stretch of beautiful sand with sparkling waters. You can walk to Bridlington - or paddle - and have fish and chips there. You're ready for them by the time you get there! If you're looking for a quiet, beautiful, snuggly hideaway in the middle of the countryside look no further. Gardeners, walkers, people looking for a romantic break, I think you'll love it. The wind chimes in the garden are very soothing....More

Rose cottage is a cosy retreat in a blissfully quiet hamlet with only bird song to hear. Beautifully furnished, well equiped kitchen, very cosy comfy beds in each of two large double bedrooms. Large garden. Close to many interesting tourist locations. My friend and I...More
