Built in the 1800s and located in the oldest part of Enniskillen, Willoughby Place is just a short walk away from the town centre, where you can enjoy the many delights that Enniskillen has to offer, such as awarding winning restaurants, Enniskillen Castle and the Ardhowen Theatre. The house is Grade II listed, and features decorative plasterwork, original sash windows with working shutters and uniquely an ornate Georgian wrought iron balcony. In its former years, 42 Willoughby Place was used as a boarding house to provide homely and comfortable accommodation for schoolboys at Portora Royal School, where many notable men and literary greats were educated, including Oscar Wilde, Nobel Laureate winner Samuel Beckett, and Henry Francis Lyte who penned the hymn 'Abide with Me.' Having been the subject of extensive renovations whilst keeping its original spacious Georgian layout and period features, Willoughby Place provides the perfect holiday accommodation for your special occasion, luxury break or celebration in Enniskillen. The house boasts three bedrooms comfortably sleeping up to six people in a mix of superking and double rooms. There are two bathrooms; one ensuite and one family bathroom in keeping with the character of the house, containing a roll top bath. The reception room features an open fire surrounded by a decorative Georgian fireplace and a cosy seating area, which is fabulous for entertaining family and friends. Double doors lead in to the south facing dining room complete with antique mahogany furniture and floral drapes creating warmth and intimacy during winter months. The property also features a large, modern well-equipped kitchen, which leads out through French doors into a charming south facing courtyard patio area complete with barbecue facilities. Free private off-road parking is provided at the rear of the house with ample space for two cars. Furthermore, rather uniquely for a townhouse, the property has facilities to host a boat, and there is a public jetty at the nearby Round 'O', which is less than 200m away. Ideally situated, Willoughby Place is approximately 90 minutes from Belfast, two hours from Dublin and only 40 minutes from the stunning Donegal coast. It is in close proximity to three National Trust properties; Castle Coole, Florence Court and Crom Castle. For golf enthusiasts, the house is within a five-minute drive from Enniskillen Golf Club, Castle Hume Golf Club and the Nick Faldo Championship Golf course. Free Wi-Fi is provided throughout the property.More

About the neighbourhood
Long regarded as one of the most attractive towns in Northern Ireland, Enniskillen is situated almost in the centre of County Fermanagh between Upper and Lower Lough Erne. The towns name is derived from the Irish -Inis Ceithleann meaning island of Cathleen, referring to an Irish mythological character who was the wife of Balor of the Evil Eye.There are literally hundreds of activities and things to do in Enniskillen from sightseeing, museums, arts, golf and hillwalking to shopping and dining out. There is certainly something to suit every taste, and all only a short distance from Willoughby Place.
