Minimum age for driver is 25. No pets. Cleaning only charged if van not returned as collected. Vehicle induction is included upon collection, please allow 30-45 minutes for this so you know how everything works, it also includes a 'driving lesson', this isn't like driving your normal car, but it's cooler! Gas bottle will be in the vehicle upon collection, should this run out we'll refund any refill upon return.

We are available on the phone if you have any problems, but you'll have a comprehensive vehicle guide book in the van. We can offer advice in advance of your hire regarding destinations, otherwise you wont hear from us on your journey unless the tracker repeatedly highlights excessive driving. If you hire our vehicle to attend a VW festival, you may hear from us, as we'll no doubt be there in the other vehicle :-)

About the neighbourhood
Both Tynemouth and Northumberland are a short journey up the A1 (around 25 minutes) North Yorkshire is 45 minutes to the south. Durham, Newcastle and Sunderland are all 20 minutes away. This gives you access to some secluded but special beaches, a host of castles, parks, farms and everything the north east has to offer within an enjoyable driving distance. We advise against very long journeys in our vehicles, as we think any classic VW hire company should. If you are wanting to cover some serious distance in a short space of time (the Scotland 500 in a week as an example) this is probably not the vehicle for that.
Getting around
Access is simple via Train stations - Newcastle, Sunderland, Durham, Chester-Le-Street Airport - Newcastle Airport is a 1 hour public transport journey or 25 minute taxi Ferry - North Shields ferry terminal is a 70 minute public transport journey or a 30 minute taxi Once you're in the vehicle the world is your oyster, but please note you will not be getting anywhere fast, this is not the vehicle for hard core journeys. You'l get up to 55mph on a motorway, but around the doors your average speed is going to be low.
