Podere Zollaio is a small agriturismo, (literally meaning farm holiday), located on the outskirts of Vinci, birthplace of Leonardo, with beautiful views over Vinci village and the surrounding countryside.
The Archi apartment is ideal for couples and young families looking for accommodation in a tranquil setting to relax and to explore Tuscany.
We are ideally based to visit the main cities of art.
We have a swimming pool, a patio with 'al fresco' dining facilities and garden for our guests to enjoy.
For our younger guests we have a swing, a sand pit and a lot of space to run around.
For animal lovers we have 9 cats, 3 donkeys (Camilla, Viola and Gino)and a goat (Daisy)

Podere Zollaio is a family run agriturismo. We live on site so we are here to welcome our guests, hand them the keys and show them the property and we are always available to answer queries or help solving any problems (if we can) while at the same time respecting our guest's privacy.

I stayed here with my mother and daughter. Chiara was very welcoming and helpful, arranging advance booking for Florence. The apartment has a wonderful view of Vinci. I would recommend this as a great base for exploring Tuscany.

The price of rental is inclusive of all mains services, 8 hours of heating per day (in winter), use of swimming pool (in summer).
Linens and towels are provided with the exception of the beach towels for use at the pool that can be hired at the cost of Euro 3 each per week.
Children under 3 years of age stay free of charge and we can provide a cot and a high chair.
From March 2012 Vinci council as well as other councils around Tuscany have introduced 'Tourist tax' which require that our guests pay Euro 1 per person per day for a maximum of 6 days of their stay. Children under the age of 14 and the registered disable are among the categories that are exempt from the tax.

About the neighbourhood
Vinci, birthplace of Leonardo, is a small village on a hilltop surrounded by vineyeards and olive groves. It sits just below the Montalbano hill that used to be the hunting reserve of the Medici family.
It has a museum dedicated the life, studies and works of Leonardo and the Da Vinci family home which has been recently refurbished and hosts an exibition of digital reproductions of Leonardo's most famous paintings.
Vinci is the perfect base to visit all the main cities of art: Florence, Pisa, Siena and Lucca are easy to reach either by car or by train. San Gimignano, Volterra, Certaldo and Montecatini will also offer alternative itineraries for you to explore.

Getting around
You can reach most destinations by car.
We highly recommend to visit Florence by train from Empoli. The journey takes about 30 minutes and the train takes you right in the heart of Florence.
Can use the train to reach Siena and Pisa too.

Ferry: Livorno: 70.0 km
Vinci is located between Florence and Pisa which are connected by a fast road called Fi-Pi-Li. Exit the Fi-Pi-Li at Empoli by the Coop Centro shopping centre and follow the signs for Vinci.
When you arrive in Vinci your have to drive through the village going uphill, passed the castle and carry on going uphill through a narrowing of the road, passed a group of houses on the right and a S curve. After about 150mt take the countrylane on the left signed Podere Zollaio and after 500 mt you will have reached your destination.
