Villa di Campolungo has a photovoltaic plant and is self-sufficient from the energetic point of view.

My family and I spent 6 enchanting nights here in Fiesole. Sylvia and Eric are delightful hosts and incredibly helpful. The villa is a remarkable blend of old and modern. It's history is a lovely tale. You definitely need a car because the cab rides are ridiculously expensive in Italy. The breakfast is a great organic potpourri of offerings. The views are amazing from the villa. We truly enjoyed its remoteness with only being only 15 km outside of Florence. The kids loved playing with their dog. The villa, its hosts and countryside rejuvenated our souls!

Thank you for your review. We are glad that you could enjoy the relaxing atmosphere at Villa di Campolungo. It was a pleasure to share with you the history of Campolungo, but also the adresses of our favourite restaurants in Fiesole and in Florence, which is only 10 km away. It was a pleasure to prepare breakfast for you every morning offering local organic cheese and ricotta, homemade jams, bread and cake....
By the way, Lilla, our dog, misses your children :))

Wenige Monate nach unserem Sommerurlaub in der Villa di Campolungo hat es uns wieder an diesen schönen Ort der gepflegten Ruhe gezogen. Klein & fein, behaglich und erholsam ist der Aufenthalt in dieser Villa, die Produkte köstlich und bekömmlich, die Gastfreundschaft überragend! Und dieses Mal haben wir uns einen Vorrat dieser herrlichen Seifen zugelegt. Wir reisten Ende Dezember an und blieben über Silvester insgesamt 1 Woche, die viel zu schnell verging. Das war ganz sicher nicht das letzte Mal, dass wir dort waren.

Hands down I left my heart at Villa Campolungo!!
It was our first trip to Italy, And might I add not the last! Silvia is wonderful we were treated like Family. From the moment we stepped off the Plane, she was there to pick us up. She greeted us with open arms. My 2 daughters are reminiscing of our last evening & Sylvia's wonderful tasting meal she prepared. The room was gorgeous nothing short of any 5 star Hotel. It was so much more luxurious than anywhere we stayed on our 3 week trip. She went out of her way to accommodate us because we had no car rental. As I don't drive a Standard Shift we were a Pain in the Butt..But with a smile she got us to the train and back. I can't thank you enough for making this beautiful Memory. We will be back!!

We are glad that the fact of not having a car was irrelevant for your holiday. We let you, though, know that the bus stop is now not more than 0,6 km / 0,4 miles from us :-).
We made our best in decorating the rooms for our guests.

Tuscan experience at its best
My family (husband, 2 teenage boys) and I loved every minute at the villa. Silvia and her family were great. She responded quickly by email and offered to help with suggestions of attractions for the area (horseback riding, cooking lessons, mass schedules, etc..) Florence was a quick train ride away (less than 15 minutes) making it easy for visiting. We spent an entire day just relaxing on the terrace and walking in the area. The pictures posted on this site are of the views, but truly don't do the scenery justice. The area is breathtaking. The breakfast served was local organic products with a fresh made dessert daily. Simply Delicious. They also offer a rustic supper cooked by her son for an extra cost. Worth every penny! The olive oil produced at the villa was our favorite of the entire trip. I would highly recommend this villa for all. My only negative is I would suggest renting a car or pre-arranging travel (taxis, bus) to and from the villa. We didn't do this.

About the neighbourhood
One of our guests wrote: 'Now I understand the lure of Tuscany that draws people from all over the world.' The area of Fiesole is the typical Tuscany countryside, beeing, though, very close to Florence. Hills, cypresses, olive groves: everything is so peaceful and idyllic.
The climate is mild.
Outdoors activities: you can walk, cycle, play golf and much more.
Our city of Fiesole has also an old Roman theatre where during the summer music, theatre and dance performances are held.
Food is genuine and tasty, many good restaurants are in our vicinity: all of them are worthy every penny.

How to Reach Us
Arrival highway A1 - Exit 'Barberino'
At the roundabout 200 mt. after the toll station, take the third exit - direction Borgo San Lorenzo.
Stay on the road for 11.5 km. and then take the first exit to the right at this second roundabout - direction Firenze (SS65 / Via Bolognese).
Stay on SS65 for another 11.5 km. When approaching Pratolino (the road is quite steep uphill), make a sharp left turn (almost at the top of the hill) direction Olmo.
Follow this road approximately 2.5 km, where you will need to make a right turn, direction Olmo again.
Continue in the direction of Olmo for approximately 1.5 km, at which point you will see a sign on your right indicating 'Via di Campolungo'. Make the right turn and go straight down Via di Campolungo for approximately 1 km at which poiunt the asphalt ends. Go straight for another 200 mt on the countryside road and you will see Villa di Campolungo at your right (yellow building). The last part (200 mt.) of the road is on a countryside road with no asphalt.
Arrival from Firenze / Fiesole - using the main road SS302 Faentina.
The Faentina road goes through the village of Caldine. When you arrive in Caldine, continue north on the same road. Go straight through Caldine. Shortly after Caldine you will see the sign Querciola and then the restaurant Mario on your right hand side.
After restaurant Mario continue straight for another 1,5 km. Following a steep 'S' curve you will see a small red house on the left and then a private road on the legft again.
Take the small private road and follow it for some 300 mt. At the crossing take to the left and go down left for another 300 mt. where you will find Villa di Campolungo on your right (yellow building). The last part (200 mt.) of the road is on a countryside road with no asphalt.
