Set in the 5 acre grounds of the historic Pavillon de la Reine, la Bergerie nestles in the beautiful Normandy countryside within ten minutes brisk walk of the Honfleur town centre along a quiet road. This former flint and brick croft riginally dates from the 17th/18th centuries and has been lovingly transformed into an independent gîte de charme with a wonderful view of Honfleur old town, the 'pont de Normandie' and the Seine estuary. . On the ground floor: a substantial living area extending into a fully glazed garden room. Kitchen and bar area.? On the first floor two bedrooms one with jacuzzi and one with bath. We charge electricity based on meter reading - 0,014/kWh. To be paid in cash before departure. Only well-behaved dogs are allowed by prior arrangement. . They're not allowed on beds and settees and make sure they are under control in the garden. We regularly have young families in the house, please be careful to pick up whatever is needed!.. Please dispose of rubbish before you leave the house, including bottles and glass and empty the barbecue and/or the stove if you have used it.

Quiet and modern

We specially loved the large living-room overlooking Honfleur, so welcoming! I love cooking and I appreciated the well-equipped kitchen. Breakfast outside by the veranda enjoying the view on the river Seine was just wonderful! We'll certainly be back!

About the neighbourhood

Honfleur is a chaming little town and can be visited any time of the year. For more information on what to do in Honfleur and around, visit the site of the Honfleur Tourist Office. Honfleur has so many tables at which to restore, refuel or read a book with the morning coffee or evening apero. Not all are on the old port ! I will send you a link to my site with a list of nice places.

Getting around

If you want to explore the area, a car is essential even if you can take buses to the main towns like Trouville/Deauville, Caen or Le Havre. You can ask at the coach station in Honfleur. But if you want to see the countryside or the D-Day beaches, it's best to go by car.
