Castel du Plessis Gerbault

Overview
Manor House -
3 Bedrooms , 2 Bathrooms , Sleeps 7
Chinon, Indre-et-Loire, Centre-Val de Loire
Castel du Plessis Gerbault is in a very picturesque site located slope side of the left bank of the river Vienne.
It faces the old fortress of Chinon. It overlooks a hamlet consisting in part of the chapel seignorial in a vineyard at 2km from Chinon.

Chinon is a lovely medieval town where you can find all shops : food stores, decoration shops, clothing and also excellent restaurants. A market is held in the city every Sunday and Thursday morning.

You enter the Castel at ground floor, in a large lounge/dining room, in the centre of which is a monumental carved fireplace. The lounge is furnished with a comfortable sofa and armchairs. Two great buffets are in the dining room as well as the TV and the HIFI system.
There is an outdoor swimming pool ( 8 m x 4 m)

There is a barbecue and a garden furniture outside on the lawn by the pool.

About the neighbourhood
The medieval fortress of Chinon is an extraordinary place to visit for it's been just rebuilt and the view on the old town and the river is so amazing. The 'battellerie' museum as well as the ' musée animé du vin' will show you the boats of the river and the wine of Chinon.

You will find a cinema, a dancing and of course a few bars. Different kind of restaurants, traditionnal French food, Italian, Chinese, fish restaurant are waiting for you.

On the first week end of August, a medieval market takes place with inhabitants dressed up in medieval clothes and showing medieval activities around the town.

At mid august the ancient market is here to show old cars with people again dressed up in old clothes. There is also an old fashion parade with fancy cars and lovely baro...
