Quiet home, right in the heart of the action. Just around the corner from lively Camden Street and a stone's throw from Stephen's Green, Grafton Street and St Patrick's Cathedral, this is the ideal base to explore Dublin. Suits one guest or a couple. This is a good-sized bedroom in a duplex house on a charming, residential, south city-centre street. Synge Street is quiet, cool and sophisticated, and just around the corner is the lively Wexford Street/Camden Street 'Village' area, lined with bars, music venues, restaurants and eateries catering to every taste. It's a great central location – and a quiet, cosy home with all the amenities too. This room is in our home. You will be sharing the apartment and bathroom with us – but we will try to give you plenty of privacy. The bedroom is at ...Quiet home, right in the heart of the action. The bedroom is at the back of the house and gets the morning sunshine. Double doors open out onto a small back garden. The bed is a standard double – suitable for a couple or a single guest. Clean sheets, bedding, adaptors and plenty of storage are all supplied – even an electric blanket for the winter. There is a tv in the room and smoking is allowed outside in the back garden. The bathroom is shared, but is adjacent to the bedrooms and benefits from good privacy from the main living space. A hairdryer, dressing gowns and towels are provided. We provide a self-serve breakfast that includes cereals, bread, tea and coffee, but after that only light use of the kitchen/living room area is encouraged as my home office is in this space. Wifi access is provided and a visitor's permit for on-street parking can be arranged for €5/day – but check in advance with me that I have enough permits. No unauthorised guests. No pets. And, sorry, the apartment is not suitable for children. Please keep eating and drinking in the bedroom to a minimum. Let's try and avoid smells and stains. Thanks. Location: The Camden Street/Portobello area is one of the very best in Dublin – lively, multicultural, full of pubs, coffee shops, restaurants, music venues and night clubs. Whelans, Dublin's most important music venue is just around the corner. But you'll have to pass by one of Dublin's best traditional Irish music sessions on the way. Other places of interest in the immediate vicinity include: St Patrick's Cathedral, Marsh's Library, The Irish-Jewish Museum, the birthplace of George Bernard Shaw, the National Concert Hall, the Iveagh Gardens, St Stephen's Green … and many more. Grafton Street, Trinity College, the Parliamentary buildings, the National History Museum and the National Gallery are within a radius of 10-15 mins walk. So too are Dublin Castle and the wonderful Chester Beattie Library. The thriving nightlife of George's Street, South William Street and Dame Lane – and the more tourist-focused Temple Bar are about 10mins walk away. The Guinness Brewery, the Jameson Distillery, the Brazen Head Pub, The Cobblestone, O'Connell Street are also easily walkable. It's worth pointing out that Dublin city centre is mostly on the south side of the river, so most places of interest – and most of the nightlife – are easier to access if you're based on this side. For sports fans, Croke Park is on the number 16 bus route; the Aviva Stadium/Landsdowne Road is a short taxi journey away. All the main city-centre attractions are easily walkable from here – and I'm happy to provide maps to show you how to get around. But if you have cause to use public transport, the area is very well served by bus routes, light rail (Luas), taxis and Dublin Bikes.More

We had a most enjoyable stay with Kieran. The place was clean and orderly. It was also not a long walk to many of the attractions around Dublin. As a host, I would rate Kieran at the top. He was attentive to our needs, opened...More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Kieran. He was an excellent host and went out of his way to welcome us and also help us after I had a fall in one of the restaurants in town. The accommodation was first class, so clean and...More

This room was absolutely perfect for our three night stay in Dublin. We had taken the train in from Cork, and it was a short taxi ride from Heuston Station. We were able to walk to Trinity College, the National Museums, restaurants, pubs, Charles Beatty...More
