Gean Tree is a detached single storey cottage which used to be the Castle laundry, so has high ceilings and a large lawn surrounded by a beech hedge. There is a sitting/dining room with an open fire (logs provided) and huge windows. The kitchen also has a table, and original belfast sinks. A double bedroom and a single bedroom, the bathroom has both a large bath, toilet, hand basin and a shower. The cottage is well furnished and equipped and has oil fired central heating. Situated on the shoulder of a hill, with fine views over the Fingask valley. Just back, had an excellent stay away. Cottage is basic but well equipped and the log fire is a bonus, the garden is massive for the dog and the grounds are fabulous to roam around in. The sunrise when you walk through the trees past...More

Stayed at gean cottage for 4 nights as i was visiting my daughter, was pleasantly surprised .The grounds were beautiful had lovely walks great for dogs,the cottage was lovely and loved my morning swim in there out door pool .will definitely be staying at gean...More

Had a brilliant short break at Gean Tree, lovely cosy cottage with large log fire ( logs supplied) which dog loved. Cottage supplied with everything you need, very comfy seating and bed. Grounds lovely, so quiet and peaceful and no light pollution at night so...More

About the neighbourhood
There are seven Fingask Castle Cottages, ranging from Sir Stuart's House sleeping fourteen to the romantic hideaway, with sauna and rowing boat , known as The Boathouse. Fingask Cottages are set in 100 acre’s of the historic gardens and woods of Fingask Castle, enjoying southerly views to the Firth of Tay and the hills of Fife beyond. The half mile long drive curves up through the wooded glen and crosses Fingask stream on a high arched stone bridge overlooking St Peter’s Well in the dell below. Fingask is truly a magic place!
Getting around
Fingask is not on any regular bus routes. The nearest stations are Perth and Dundee, both about 20 minutes drive from here by car. The airports are Edinburgh and Glasgow both approximatly 1 hour away. In short you need a car to enyoy your stay here!
