Edinburgh Castle is easily accessible from the apartment and both the famous West End and Princes Street, the heart of Edinburgh, are only a 15 minute walk away. A similar walk takes you to Stockbridge (great market - look it up on YouTube) or in a different direction, Rose Street. Your biggest problem is likely to be having to decide what trips and visits you won't have time to do! For those times when you just want to be in the apartment there's Wifi, Freeview TV with DVD player, Xbox360 (2 controllers), some Xbox games, DVDs and ordinary social games provided. With a kitchen sensibly equipped for a family as well as for couples, you can choose to self-cater or you may prefer to eat out at one of the huge range of restaurants, bars and cafés in Edinburgh. There are also loads of places nearby that do takeaways or home delivery if you are shattered and want to be home to eat but don't want to cook. The apartment is good for shorter city breaks as well as longer visits and we are very flexible about length of stay and arrival days. Sleeping up to 4 plus baby (in travel cot) there ia a superking double bed (200cm long x 180 cm wide) in the main bedroom which has an ensuite shower room. The other bedroom has a bathroom just across the corridor from it and has 2 single beds but these can be converted into a superking double if required. We provide a Welcome Tray with tea, coffee, sugar, some basics such as cooking oil, salt and pepper, jam, crisps and a few other things so you won't go hungry or thirsty if you arrive exhausted and without having had the chance to do any shopping. There will be someone available to help you during your stay, if needed. Please note that there's no lift but the stairs are split in short sections easily managed with a pushchair. Travel cot, highchair & toddler step are included in rent. NEW!! There are special weekly rates in July and August More

The regulations for this accommodation include a quiet time from 11 pm to 7 am and in general we need our guests to respect the peace and quiet of those living in the other apartments, including when going up and down the stairs to the flat. About the neighbourhood
Edinburgh has been the capital of Scotland since 1889 and is in ScotlandCentral belt. More than 400 miles north of London, it is generally cooler and the best months to visit for being outside most of the time are May to September. That said, Edinburgh weather is changeable and you should always allow for the possibility of rain. You will also get days where the light is truly beautiful but if unlucky there is just loads to do that undercover. There are many options to occupy both children and their parents such as Camera Obscura on the Royal Mile, the Zoo (and the Pandas!), Haunted Edinburgh, the Castle, the Dungeons and all sorts of workshops in the summer. When thinking about the weather, look at pictures of Rose Street, the Old Town, the markets and all the outside events with the tabl...
Getting around
Edinburgh City has an excellent bus service and taxis are not overly expensive. The apartment is only 5 minutes from bus stops for 5 different buses that take you into the West End of Edinburgh in about 5 minutes - or you can walk. For Edinburgh City it really is best to leave the car behind in our secure parking that is included in your rent. For exploring further afield there are all sorts of tours available through the Tourist Office or you can head off in the car. A 1 hour drive will take you to the Borders or north towards the Highlands. Information is available at the apartment.
