The apartment is situated by Edinburgh's ancient and historic Grassmarket, with its cosmopolitan variety of cafes, bars, restaurants and quirky shops.

A 10 minute walk will bring you to our famous Princes Street and its gardens. Many of the museums, galleries and attractions in Edinburgh city centre and the Royal Mile are also an easy stroll away. The apartment is located in a quiet part of the building, away from the bustle of the main street. It is part of a gated community, with entry by code.

Lynne was a fantastic host, who made our stay comfortable and easy. Her apartment is in a great location and we also loved that it was child friendly (albeit the steps with a pram, which is totally doable! Was not a problem for us at all) The bed was comfy, the apartment clean and Lynne was on hand to help...

The living room is a stylish and modern room with a comfortable sofa which seats 2 and an easy chair. There is a flat screen TV with Freeview and a DVD player. A travel cot and high chair are available on request. There is also a dining table and chairs to accommodate all guests. Free Wifi is available. A small selection of novels and tourist guides are provided for the use of guests.

The kitchen is a separate room. It is well equipped, with a wide range of good quality utensils and equipment including cooker, hob, fridge/freezer, washing machine/dryer, coffee maker and microwave.

About the neighbourhood
The Grassmarket is in the historic centre of Edinburgh and is home to numerous restaurants, cafes, Scottish pubs and boutiques selling antiques, books, cashmere, period clothes and much more. Restaurants in the pedestrianised areas allow for outdoor eating. The area is steeped in history. Notoriously the Grassmarket was the site for public executions, a memory reflected in the naming of the Last Drop pub: the name refers both to drops of drink and to the drop from the gallows. During the summer the place comes alive with street performers, musicians and special events. A quick stroll will take you up to the Royal Mile and the Castle or along to Princes St through its lovely gardens.
Getting around
Edinburgh is a 'walkable' city and best seen on foot.

Two bus routes stop right outside the apartment and numerous other routes are available within 5 minutes walk. The public buses accept only exact change and sell both single tickets and unlimited day tickets.

There are numerous Hop on, Hop off buses which stop near the main sites.

There is free parking in metered bays close to the apartment from 18.30 each night until 08.30 in the morning and from 18.30 on Saturday night through to 08.30 Monday morning. Monday to Saturday you can pay to park in these bays (maximum 4 hours).
