This 1st floor property is at the heart of Edinburgh's bustling Southside. It is a stones throw from the beautiful Meadows park with its fantastic children's playground. A 5 minute walk will take you to the iconic Arthur's Seat and Salisbury crags with majestic views of the city and surrounding area. The city centre and 'old town' housing the historic Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle and Holyrood Palace is 15 minutes by foot although there are plenty of buses if you are feeling a wee bit weary.

Gorgeous apartment, lots of space and it was great to have two bathrooms! Kitchen was well stocked and the complimentary tea, coffee were great after a long journey. The apartment is on a busy road so would suggest earplugs if you are a light sleeper....More

Large and spacious apartment. Extremely comfy beds and pillows!! Friendly and helpful owners. Great location for walking into the city. Would stay again without a doubt.

The apartment is very spacious, having three very large double rooms and a fourth with plenty of room for the two sigle beds. Very clean and bright with high ceilings throughout. The kitchen/diner is great and well equiped for us to chat, cook and eat...More

About the neighbourhood
Newington is a vibrant area with lots of local cafes, shops and places to eat. There is a small express supermarket over the road from the property. A larger supermarket is TESCOS. If you turn left out of the property and walk 3 blocks it is on the other side of the road. There is an ATM across the road and another one at the Bank of Scotland which is one block to the right on the other side of the road. There are lots of restaurants in the local area from simple Pub food, Mexican, Turkish, French, Argentinian and many more....the choice is yours.
Getting around
The city is easy to explore on foot. The town centre is apporx a 20minute walk from the flat. If you turn left out of the main door and keep walking you will cross the royal mile. At one end there is Holyrood place and the other the castle.

If you prefer getting the bus the nearest bus stop is beside the Southern bar. The local buses need the correct change and the fare although you can put in more but don't expect change!!

You can hail a taxi on the street. Any taxi with their orange light on is available and will stop if you raise your hand (and they see you)

From the airport:
Take a taxi directly from the airport to the address, cost approx. £25/5person taxi
Take a tram to York Place, cost approx. £6. From York Place walk past St Marys Cathedral, turn right up Leith Street. Continue up the hill onto Princes Street. Cross the road onto North Bridge(past Balmoral Hotel). Continue walking until you come to a crossroads with Sainburys shop and Papa Johns Pizza Place on opposite corners(approx. 1mile) The property is above Papa Johns with the door on the main road. If you don't want walk there there are numerous buses on North Bridge there. Take a bus with Newington on the front. Buses cost £1.70/passenger. You need correct change for the buses.
