About the neighbourhood
The Peebles area 'Peebles for Pleasure' is what the locals say and it's easy to see why! Peebles offers plenty of ways to enjoy the great outdoors with many leisure activities. Golf, fishing, mountain biking and walking are popular pursuits, with the Forests of Tweeddale and the challenging Southern Upland Way easily accessible. For mountainbikers of all levels, Glentress Forest offers the first courses in Scotland designed by enthusiasts using a colour-graded scheme like ski runs. Peebles' spacious High Street offers interesting boutiques and welcoming tearooms for a spot of shopping, then round off the day with a visit to Peebles Eastgate Theatre; opened in 2004 with a varied year-round selection of theatre, music and art exhibitions. Peebles offers a variety of high quality restauran...
How to get there
From the Edinburgh City Bypass, take the Lothianburn exit. Follow the signs for Peebles / Penicuik, going through two roundabouts and taking the A703, middle road of the three forks on down to Peebles (about 20 miles). As you come into Peebles, there is a large roundabout. Turn right for Town Centre, proceed along the High Street until you reach the mini roundabout at the end. At the mini roundabout, turn left, following the signs to Traquair / Kailzie. Go over the bridge and follow the main road as it bears round to the left out of the town. Go past the Cavalry Park Business Centre on the left and the Mill House is about half a mile past on the left, at the next group of houses. Turn left into the driveway, before the garage.
