CREAG-an-FHITHICH (pronounced craig-an-eeoch) meaning 'Raven's Rock' is available as a self catering holiday house for a relaxing or busy holiday on the sea shore at Loch Melfort, in Argyll. When the weather is good, the sun shines on the house all day and meals can be taken alfresco on the picnic table, even out of season. Outside • Pull-out picnic table for 6, in summer. • Wooden garden benches • Garden fold-up chairs and parasol, find in the porch • Masonary BBQ • Portable BBQ in the lean-to garage • Garden hut, with chairs (key hanging in the scullery) • Delightful garden and wild flower garden. Facilities • Duvet covers, sheets, pillowcases and towels provided. • Wooden cot and high chair available. Please ask • Wood-burning, inset stove in the sitting room. A basket of logs with kindling is supplied as part of the rental. • All-Electric. Heating is night-storage, convection and blow heaters. • WiFi internet access available. Notes Change-over is Saturday: arrival 5 pm, departure 10 am. Heating is by night storage, convection and blow heaters. Great Loch side property

Lovely house in beautiful location

We had a lovely week in a fantastic house. We had fun kayaking on the loch, whiskey tasting, cycling and walking. The highlight was taking Duncan's Farsain Cruise boat out to see seals, porpoises and sea eagles. Missing it already.

Excellent accommodation in great location.

Character house in a great location on the shore of Loch Melfort. Inside the house was well appointed and comfortable with a great family atmosphere. Views across the loch were terrific and the house was an ideal base for touring the area.

About the neighbourhood
There is sea shore fishing (spinning for mackeral etc) from the point in front of the house or from 'Tinker's Point, 400m west. If you have a boat, it can be launched in front of the house, as well. There is freshwater fishing is on 12 local lochs, by permit, purchased at the Post Office in the village. Golf: The world renowned championship course at Machrihanish is about 1½ hrs spectacular drive south to the Mull of Kintyre and there are 2 courses closer to home: the challenging 18 hole course at Oban and the 9 hole course on Seil Island. Both are within ½ hour's drive away. Ponies: Enjoy gentle treks through forest tracks and along scenic coastlines at Lunga Riding Stables. Only a 30 minute drive away, there is an outdoor arena for practicing, children are made very welcome and there ...
Getting around
Cars are essential. However there is the train station in Oban, with four trains a day to Glasgow Central. There is an intercity bus service and a local bus service. International and national flights come in Glasgow and Edinburgh. Ferries go to the southern islands from Oban.
