About the neighbourhood
County Down is on the south east coast of Northern Ireland. Within easy reach is historic market towns of Castlewellan (with forest park), Downpatrick (with Down Cathedral, St. Patrick's burial site, Down Museum and close to Struell Healing Wells), Banbridge (with Patrick Bronte's Homeland trail) and the border town of Newry (now designated as a city, with a cathedral, pedestrianised town centre and covered shopping precincts,. There are lots of safe, clean beaches, including drive-on Tyrella Beach. Ardglass and Kilkeel are active fishing harbours. Golf courses are world famous including the Royal County Down in Newcastle and Ardglass Golf course. For those interested in hillwalking, the Mournes are a joy, and fell-runners' paradise. Mountain-bikers, and cyclists in general, can find challenging and enjoyable routes.

Go downhill and as the road turns left, take a sharp turn right on to Wild Forest Lane. The entrance to Beverley is immediately on the left. If you are travelling by bus ask if there is a bus which stops at 'Kidd's Corner' or get ...
