A beautiful period home, dating from 1837, in a perfect location close to the shore of Lake Windermere, and on the lower slopes of Wansfell, The property is situated c. 600m from Waterhead and the Lowood Hotel (water sport, ferries, pub, restaurants), c. 1 mile to Ambleside, and c. 3 miles to Windermere.village The lake itself is less than. 200m from the front of the buildings which form Wansfell Holme, or 50 metres from the shared meadow (c. 1.5 acres) in front of the formal gardens to nos. 1&2. The views go across the lake to Wray Castle, Pulwood Bay, The Old Man of Coniston, Wetherlam etc. No.3 has a private garden (c. 1/3 of an acre) with its own lake views and views towards Loughringg and the Langdales.. We live on site and are happy to make suggestions about places to visit, walking and places to eat and drink. We are separate to the accommodation and you have complete privacy in the house. The keysafe is located to the left of the front door We own 2 dogs who use the grounds and are very friendly

We stayed at the property in August 2018 through an Airbnb booking. The owners met us on arrival and walked us through the house and explained appliances, wifi, and parking. Property itself is gorgeous, and we had cozy, comfortable rooms, and beddings for stay. Guests...More

The Lake District is a national park and a UNESCO world heritage site The house is in walking distance of Waterhead and Ambleside with easy access to many Lakeland villages such as Windermere, Grasmere, Bowness on Windermere and Coniston We are a short walk from Windermere cruises where you can take the ferry to many places on the Lake, including the walkers cruise which stops at Wray Castle Ambleside has many cafes, restaurants and pubs. There area Spar, Co-op and Tesco Express supermarkets. There is a large Booths supermarket in Windermere, located next to the railway station
