Lydia's River Cottage is located on the banks of the River Greta, enjoying the best of both worlds, nestling in it’s rural setting by the river but in easy walking distance of Keswick town centre (around 10 minutes flat walk by the river).

Dedicated private off road parking for two cars to the front of the cottage.

Downstairs is open plan with a very nice kitchen dining area to the rear of the property featuring a fully fitted kitchen with a dishwasher, washing machine and all modern conveniences.

To the front of the property we have a comfortable sitting room, a remote control gas coal effect stove and although the cottage is fully centrally heated living flames create a lovely focal point.

WiFi is complementary and unlimited, and there is a 40 inch smart TV and DAB radio, bird books, walks books and a set of binoculars.

We look after Lydia's River Cottage personally and like to make every guest welcome, though due to varying arrival times we leave the keys in a key safe to the right of the front door, you will receive an email two days prior to the start of your holiday with the key safe code. We are usually on hand in the event of a problem with the property or if you simply need some information on the area and will help if we can. Full contact details are in the cottage.

About the neighbourhood
Keswick is suited to people of all ages and interests, quite apart from it's beautiful location it is a vibrant bustling market town with it's own theatre, art deco cinema an abundance of restaurants to suit all tastes, mainstream shops and artisan shops. Golfers are catered for at the nearby Keswick golf club, there are two bridge clubs in town which welcome visiting players, angling opportunities on the river or in Derwentwater (permit required).
Getting around
There is a bus stop for destinations to the south and east (south lakeland and the eden valley) 50 metres from the front door, guests wishing to travel north or west would need to depart from the main bus station which is located close to the town centre.

Open top double decker busses provide an excellent way to see the lakes in the summer months.

Lydia's River Cottage enjoys good public transport links, by rail to Penrith station and the connecting bus service to the bus stop which is within 50 metres of the cottage. The majority of our guests however arrive by car, there are dedicated private off road parking places for two cars to the front of the cottage.
