Holiday Rental House
Highview House is a beautiful old Grade 2 listed Town House dating back to 1792. It sits one road from the waterfront and enjoys spectacular views of the River Dart and out to sea. The house channels the laid back luxury of a boutique hotel in the intimate setting of a private holiday let. The house is a four-storey Town House in a street of similar elegant properties close to the centre of Town. In total there are four double bedrooms one with a king size bed, one a super king and the other two bedrooms have two singles which can be made in to super kings upon request. There are two large bedrooms on the ground floor, one of which has a spacious en suite bathroom with walk-in shower and dressing room. There is also a small bathroom on this floor. On the top floor is the attic room with obviously the best view of all. A large window offers spectacular views across the River Dart and out to sea.More

Six of us (including my parents in their 80s) had a wonderful time at Highview House. The location was great - just a few minutes walk from the sea front and lots of restaurants. The house was clean and well-equipped, and just right for 6...More

Beautiful well appointed house in a great location. Lovely bedrooms, some with great views. Lounge slightly small for 8 people but perfect for our family of 5. Wouldn't hesitate to book again as love Dartmouth!

About the neighbourhood
Highview House is located on Newcomen Road in the centre of Dartmouth, a stone's throw from the waterfront and all the shops and restaurants. The town of Dartmouth takes much of its special character from its deep secluded harbour. In earlier times it was a centre for pirates' raids and later on the Navy and the Free French used it for secret missions to Northern France during World War II. It has seen great gatherings of vessels that set out for the Crusades or to combat the Spanish Armada. The Pilgrim Fathers began their great adventure hardly a stone's throw from Highview House. The attraction of the river is increased by the natural beauty of the surrounding countryside which has attracted great artists and writers over the years.
Getting around
Newcomen Road is to the seaward end of Dartmouth within easy walking distance of all parts of the Town and the Harbour. Highview House is directly opposite the flight of stairs leading down to Bayards Cove where a plaque is on display marking the point of departure of the Pilgrim Fathers for America.
