Cottage
This self catering cottage is 3 miles from the centre of Bristol with a direct bus link every 10 minutes and, with its lovely garden, it is an ideal place to combine all the fun and fascination of a visit to the great city of Bristol, with the joys of a rural retreat. The accommodation provides excellent comfort, and all modern facilities. There is a piano for guests to play, a picnic table in the garden for fine weather plus outdoor table tennis and games of all sorts. Bristol has so much to offer and a weeks visit would not do justice to all there is to see and do. It is also a great centre for visits to the west country, and to Wales and the Cotswolds, and the city of Bath is within easy reach. It is also a great centre for visits to the west country, and to Wales and the Cotswolds, and the city of Bath is within easy reach. The old barn sits at the side of the Grade 2 listed house in the historic village of Westbury on Trym and is reported to be the oldest in the village. The barn was originally part of the farm buildings, and evidence of the old range and bread oven are still in place as is the meat salting sink. There are flagstone floors, ancient stone walls and bedrooms under the eaves. It is a fascinating place!More

About the neighbourhood
There is plenty to see and do in the great maritime port of Bristol. Museums, art galleries, theatre, fine shopping areas, the dockside with its river boats. There are frequent festivals on the waterfront. The restored SS Great Britain is an exciting day out, as are the zoo and botanical gardens, all nearby. There are numerous parks and children's play areas, one within a short walk from the cottage.
Getting around
Buses run from the centre of the village (5 minutes walk away) to the city every 10 minutes and connect with trains and ferries.
