Fenny Bentley, Peak District National Park, England
Attractive old stone cottage refurbished to a very high standard nestles next to the church in the charming village of Fenny Bentley in the southern end of the Peak National Park just 3 miles north of Ashbourne. Centrally heated throughout, plus a log burner in our cosy sitting room with TV/DVD, CD and radio. The stylish kitchen diner is well equipped and spacious and still retains its original flagstone floor. The ground floor bathroom has bath with overhead shower, wash basin and toilet. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with 2 single beds. Both bedrooms have plenty of storage space for clothing. Outside there is a traditional cottage garden, a small secluded sitting out area and secure garage. We keep 4 bikes for the use of our guests. There are 2 popular pubs serving food within easy walking distance. The T... Read more

We spent a great weekend at the cottage and wished we could have stayed longer. The cottage has been renovated to a high standard with a lot of thought put into it, so that it retains it's cosy character, but with all the modern amenities. The cottage was spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable, with a well equipped kitchen. Everything we...

The location is somewhere I have wanted to stay. So amazed at the outside of the cottage and the inside was 5 star. Felt so homely and cosy, yet very spacious, everything you could possibly need. So clean and classy felt like I was the first person to stay there. We arrived in snowy weather cottage lovely and warm and...

Thoroughly recommend this cottage. Great walks direct from the doorstep and close to larger towns like Ashbourne and Bakewell for coffee and food. Combines the best of hikes in the great outdoors and strolls around picturesque villages. The cottage is very well equipped, tastefully decorated and very cosy. A lovely home from home and we will definitely be returning!

About the neighbourhood
Fenny Bentley is the most southerly village in the Peak District. Its a small village located close to Dovedale, which you can walk to across beautiful countryside directly from this cottage. Fenny Bentley, with a lovely church where you can see the rare and strange shrouded tomb of the Beresford family, lies three miles north of the attractive market town of Ashbourne, on the A515 Buxton to Ashbourne Road. The disused track of the former London and North Western Railway from Ashbourne to Buxton, which is now a leisure trail for walkers, cyclists and horse riders, the 'Tissington Trail', is very close to our cottage, together with other walks of the local countryside without the need for a car.
Each year Fenny Bentley plays host to the World Toe Wrestling Championships in the loca...
