This is the Gaeltacht area of Donegal. The locals speak Irish but everyone can also speak English. Earagail Arts Festival includes theatre and comedy, outdoor family events, children's events, exhibitions, film and workshops. Over 80 events take place at over 35 locations in Co. Donegal. Check website for dates and programme.
Dungloe, the next large town is just 13 miles away. The Mary from Dungloe Festival usually starts the last Friday of July and lasts for one week. Nearby attractions include, Dunlewy Lakeside Centre, Glenveagh National Park, Bloody Forelands. Traditional music sessions take place in local pubs throughout the area. Famous groups/performers from the area include Altan, Clannard, Enya and Daniel O'Donnell
