THE COTTAGE - Avon Vale in the quiet village of Woodgreen is a small detatched cottage nestled in the woods of the beautiful New Forest. Actually situated on the Avon Valley Path, it is a walker's paradise with walks in every direction.You can literally walk straight out of the gate right into the forest, in the cottage there are OS maps of the local areas to help you explore. Woodgreen village has a newly refurbished traditional pub (dog friendly) serving very good food & real ale. The village also has a wonderful community shop selling a large range of local produce, making it very possible not to have to use your car once you are here if you don't want to. The cottage has a double bedroom, lounge area with a cosy wood burner & double doors leading out to the patio. The kitchen area is well equipped with microwave oven, double hob and slow cooker. All logs, kindling and fire lighters are provided as are tea coffee, sugar etc Outside is a private patio area with table and chairs, a BBQ with utensils is available on request , there is as access to a large shared woodland garden and lawn with more table and chairs backing onto private woods where deer can be seen in the early morning. Avon Vale is available for weekends and short breaks all year as well as weekly . Please ask if you want less days than the minimum as it may be possible Well behaved dogs are welcome and there is no extra charge for bringing them, though we do have a limit of two unless pre arranged. . If you are bringing a dog we do need to be notified before booking and can not accept puppies under 6 months old. More

What can I say about Avon Vale? If you want peace and quiet, if you want to hear birdsong, see deer, donkeys, New Forest Ponies and have your breakfast outside then this is the place for you. Georgie was an excellent host even offering to...More

The village of Woodgreen, Near Fordingbridge, which has its own special charm being situated overlooking the River Avon to the West, whilst the New Forest stretches away to the East. The ancient New Forest landscape, where ponies and cattle are free to roam, is an ideal venue for walking, riding, cycling as well as offering many places of interest for its visitors - Beaulieu (abbey and motor museum), Bucklers Hard maritime museum, Lymington (yachting and trips to the Isle of Wight), Rockbourne Roman Villa, Breamore House, to name but a few. The larger cities of Salisbury, Southampton and Bournemouth are also within easy driving distance and the small country town of Fordingbridge, 4 miles away, provides a good local shopping centre.
