Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.

Stunning house, views and location
We had an amazing week at Whitford View - the house is spotlessly clean and so comfortable and had everything you could need for a family holiday. The most amazing thing were the views though - we spent so much time sitting in the garden watching the estuary and the skies change. The location was ideal, no more than 20 minutes to all the beaches on the peninsula and the drive to them all was so lovely. Very handy village shop a few doors down and the play area two minutes walk away is one of the most picturesque I’ve been to. Would highly recommend a stay here!

Superb Holiday Home on The Gower Peninsula
I can only reiterate what other reviews have said about Whitford View. It's a superb house with lovely helpful but unobtrusive owners next door, in an idyllic village location with friendly locals. It has fantastic views of the estuary and salt marshes with glorious sunsets. The village of Crofty has a welcoming Pub and a well stocked village shop. A supermarket, butchers and chemist are in the next village of Pen-clawdd. If you want larger supermarkets and shops Llanelli and Swansea are both within easy reach. The weather was hot and sunny all week, almost too hot!! (Something I've never said about a holiday in Wales before). It was our first visit to The Gower and we loved it. We preferred the North of the Peninsula which was quieter but still had plenty to offer including vast sandy beaches and lovely coastal and inland walks. There was a problem with the WiFi connection which Rhian, the owner, did her up most to rectify with BT, but unfortunately it wasn't fixed until the last day of our holiday. Rhian very generously compensated us for the inconvenience by giving us a large joint of her home-reared lamb to take home, which was very much appreciated. We would definitely recommend Whitford View and would like to return next year as it is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing holiday.

Wonderful location for getting around Gower
Wonderful location for getting around Gower. The home was spotless and a perfect place to stay after a long journey from Los Angeles. We loved the Crofty pub across the street and had some wonderful meals there as well as great company. One thing that was missing was a hairdryer - a necessity for most women!

Our second Summer holiday stay at Whitford View
As the title suggests this was our second two week stay in Crofty and the delightful Whitford View. We were blessed with the weather and I don't think I have ever walked as far during any holiday. The location of the cottage is just perfect to get almost anywhere in the Gower or Brecon Beacons. Every day we went somewhere different, from the waterfalls in the Neath valley to Tenby and Caldy Island and then to Bridgend Retail park for some shopping. I just love Rhosilli and the amazing beach and cliff top walks. Forget Devon & Cornwall or the Lakes, this place is just a forgotten slice of heaven just waiting to be explored. Opposite the cottage is a lovely pub. A few yards further up is a handy little shop. Great chippy a few miles up the road and just the best views you can enjoy just before you close the curtains. I don't want to rave about this place too much as we want to go back again next year for a few weeks of fun so I don't want it fully booked just yet. Thanks to the owners who are just next door. Lovely place, lovely cottage - go, do and enjoy!!

Bliss
We were visiting for a family occasion, and stayed for 2 nights. The house is situated in a beautiful, peaceful village on the Gower, with good local amenities and friendly locals. The House is finished to a high standard, is spotlessly clean, and Rhian has thought of everything you could possibly need to be relaxed and comfortable during your stay. I can't recommend this place highly enough, and plan to book the house again for our next visit :)

Fantastischer Ausblick

Lush! Lush! Lush!
The house was perfect. Every convenience was there. High quality furnishings and comfortable beds. The famous Pen Clawdd cockles were actually prepared by the family next door. A real treat. The view was surreal because at times the sea was almost lapping the bottom of the garden and when the tide went out, there was a beautiful green field with horses grazing on it. A village shop a few doors away and a lovely village pub directly opposite. We all had a marvellous time. Would love to return and probably will.
