There is a large, private, mature and well maintained garden with uninterrupted and breathtaking views across Lochindaal. Ample car parking within the property grounds is available for guests.
• Bed linen and bath towels are provided (not beach towels)
• Electricity and heating are provided free of charge (reasonable use)

Large Groups
We are happy to have larger groups of adults staying, but please note no parties, stag or hen dos are allowed and that 4 of the beds are in one room, it's certainly not ideal if all the beds are being used by adults.

We have an honesty box system in the house, we have supplied basic and useful items which you will find in the kitchen cupboard. You'll find everything in here from cooking oil, ketchup, tea, herbal teas, coffee, washing liquid, biscuits, cereals, tins, shampoo, conditioner, herbs, spices etc... all we ask is that you pop a few coins in the pot so we can buy more for future guests. We also supply toilet rolls, washing liquid, kitchen paper, foil etc ... we want to make it as easy as possible for you!More

Well we certainly fell on our feet with this holiday let. Light and airy, stunning sea views, as clean and fresh as if it were new. Beautifully and comfortably furnished with quality items. Everything we needed was right on hand, just so naturally..... this is...More
House was perfect for 2 adults, 2 kids and a wee dog. Love the island, especially the beaches. Especially enjoyed my morning walk for cake, coffee and chat at the very handy Bruichladdich market ... and the seafood platter at the nearby Lochindaal. Great host.
Portbahn is a spacious comfortable house near Bruichladdiich on Islay. We spent four nights here recently and loved it. It looks out onto loch indaal so an ever changing view and has a large enclosed garden which our dog was very happy running around in....More

Thank you for your review - it was great to have you stay.
Perfect location to shelter from the wild weather of Islay - snow, hail and sunshine all in one hour, then back to the lovely house with it's woodburning stove and picture window.

Thanks guys, glad you had a great time on Islay and at the house.
We arrived in the dark and so could not appreciate the fantastic view until the next day.
The cottage itself is extremely well presented and well equipped. It was also kept very clean. We would happily stay there again.
It is also in a fantastic...More
The house was perfect for us, three couples. We could easily have spent longer in the house, but sadly we were just on a weekend break. We'll kitted out, amazing views and not too far from anywhere.
Portbahn was ideal for our short trip to Islay. Our daughters (7 and 9 years) loved the trampoline, I loved waking up to the stunning views over the loch to Bowmore every morning, and my husband loved the incredibly short walk to Bruichladdich distillery. The...More
We so love Pi and her place by the sea. We stayed a few days as we toured the island and distilleries. The cottage is incredibly comfortable and appointed with everything you need. Restaurants and a few little grocery/supply stores are not far away. We...More
Lovely, clean, well-equipped cottage with wonderful views. We had a very relaxing stay and would love to go back. Weather was great and the view from the front windows is beautiful.
We are situated on the Rhinns of Islay; a short walk will get you to Bruichladdich Distillery, home of many quality whiskies, including Octomore & Black Art, and of course Islay's only gin, The Botanist. They are now running gin tours as well as whisky tours.
As well as being a 10min walk from Bruichladdich Distillery, it is the same distance to the local shop (post office) for every day needs, as well as great coffee and a toastie or bacon sandwich!
Port Charlotte is a 40 min walk or a 5 min drive and has three good restaurants and the hotel has evenings of local music. Port Mor also has a Bistro and a playground at the campsite.
Bowmore has a comprehensive supermarket sufficient for all needs during a stay and is a 15 min drive.
Getting around
Islay bus will stop at the driveway to the house. Please find a bus timetable in your welcome pack.
