Upon your arrival we will show you the suite and give you your keys. We will be around to help you with ideas of where to go and things to do and see and generally be available during your stay. Our guests have always been pleased with our suggestions for dining out or visiting different parks or experiences. For those who love to kayak, kayaks can be rented from Alberni Outpost, Brechin Rd, only 5 minutes from Randle House. They offer adventures around the bay, however, you can do it yourself as well. You can kayak right to Randle Hjouse and park your kayak on the lawn, ready to go out again.

Wonderful and peaceful location on the edge of the ocean. We slept with the balcony door open to listen to the sound of the waves and to enjoy the fresh air. The bed was incredibly comfortable and we slept very well! The unit is very...More

About the neighbourhood
Randle House offers a beach you can stroll. A short walk away and you can sometimes get close to the bald eagles in a group feeding on the beach. Be respectful of the eagles as are the sea gulls and crows. It's fun to watch the pecking order. Bring your fins and goggles. The water is clear and clean, great for a swim. We are within 5 minutes from Neck Point Park and Pipers Lagoon, wonderful walks along the ocean. Pack a lunch and lean up against a big log or rock on the water edge, take a quiet nap. We are very close to a shopping mall for groceries, a new liquor store fully equipped. An RBC bank. Downtown is in S Nanaimo - 7 mins. Malls & box stores are in NNanaimo. 7 mins.
Getting around
Most guests rent a car as there are many places not too far away that you will like to explore. A bus is close by. Cedar Grove forest, huge Douglas fir trees and a peaceful walk through the forest. Half hour drive to famous Coombs market with goats that live on the grassy roof. Behind Coombs is Cuckoos, the best Italian restaurant this side of Italy. And one mile from there are two stores set in the forest...cross a train track and take your mate, everyone loves shopping at Bamboozles and House of Leaves. (written up in the Toronto Globe and Mail, 'the best shopping this side of New York)' A fun adventure. A different day adventure. Take the small ferry to New Castle Island, very close to RH that you can see from your balcony.

Airport: Nanaimo Airport: 20.0 km
Ferry: BC Ferry Terminal: 1.0 km
Coming from Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal, West Vancouver, you will arrive at Departure Bay ferry terminal in approx 1hr / 40 minutes. From there stay to the right all the way to Randle House, only 4 minutes from the ferry. The Nanaimo airport is approx 20 minutes from Nanaimo. Float plane service with Sea Air or Harbour Air is a 20 min flight from downtown Vancouver or Richmond to downtown Nanaimo.
Parking is in our driveway.
A bus stop is within walking distance on Departure Bay Road.
