Oat Cottage is a great property in a very quiet and tranquil location. It's also an ideal base for exploring the surrounding area with Lewes, Eastbourne and Brighton all a short drive away. The property itself was beautifully clean, tidy and well-equipped. Definitely recommended for...More

About the neighbourhood
Very close to many national trust properties , great cycling routes and walks . If you want a stay where you can enjoy the countryside and take time out in London , before heading to the coast for a day out , then this is the place to be. Trains from Lewes to London Victoria take 1 hour , and are every 20 minutes. Parking is easy , so you can enjoy a full day in the city. We have a riding school at the end of the road , and many local farm shops. The lane is very quiet , so a stroll along the lane and footpath to the pub at night is very pleasant.
Getting around
We are 25 mins drive from Lewes train station, 15 mins from uckfield and 40 minutes from Haywards Heath. All have trains to London. There are many public footpaths on our doorstep too, and we are lucky to be close to the South Downs national park and Ashdown forest , where Winnie the Pooh lives!
