About the neighbourhood

Pietermaai is a historic district (Unesco Heritage List) with a lot of new developments and active entrepreneurs, who are creating the ultimate and cozy holiday area. Highlights through the year are: Kingsnight- and day (Dutch party with music, fairs and much more), Pagara (New Years Eve) and the Christmas Fair. Also a yearly music street festival is happening in Pietermaai District. There are many excellent and charming restaurants within walking distance from Beach House Pietermaai! The hoouse is located near the popular beaches such as Sea Aquarium Beach and the bustling Punda with many shops, the famous Queen Emma Pontoon Bridge, delicious local lunch at Plasa Bieu and much more. Punda is reachable within 5 minutes walking distance.

Getting around

The main bus station nearby and will bring you for a few guilders to the popular beaches (Sea Aquarium, Mambo) and a supermarket or to the other parts of the island. Private gated parking lot is available and recommended because of paid parking per hour in the street (5 USD per 24 hours). Need a car rental? We can give you recommendations of very reliable and good car rental companies. A transfer (pick up airport and/or drop off airport) is possible. Please ask us for more information. Ride from the airport is 20 minutes.
