We enjoy staying in an area where we can interact with the local people, and the people in Aruba are the friendliest we've ever encountered. It was a short walk to good restaurants, and our daily Starbuck fix, as well as the historical, and the new of Oranjestad.
Faramarz was always available and helpful. Laundry and maid service were available but we used it sparingly. The locked fence gate made security a non-issue, although we never felt any insecurity anywhere in Aruba.
A few minor issues prevented this from being a 'five': missing light bulbs in the bathroom, a finicky lamp in the bedroom, a running toilet, and rusty cooking pans.
The beach was just across the street, but because of Carnival there were temporary fences along the pathway making access more difficult. We minded the ugliness of the fences more than the difficult access, since we only spent a few hours on the beach anyway.
