A beautiful sun room with ample seating overlooks the private lake. There is also a separate tv room, dining room and a sitting room upstairs. The kitchen is well equipped and has an additional table for dining.

Really enjoyed our stay at Herron lodge lots of space for our party of 14 nice comfy bedrooms with tv's plenty of bathrooms well equipped kitchen. Great location lots of places to visit in the area just a pity we didn't stay longer .

Beautiful house in a lovely location
Herons Lodge was fantastic from start to finish. Everything was as advertised and more than we could ever imagine. The house was very clean and stylish with lots of character and charm. It's a great location for the Shannon waterways with lots of quiet spots for paddle-boarding and open-water swimming yet close by the larger towns for great places to eat! John and Jody were very accommodating and helpful giving us full use of the garden and even helping us out with our car problems(!) and making sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely stay here again! 10/10

Heron’s Lodge
Had a fantastic weekend with the family in Heron’s lodge celebrating our mother’s 80th. Lodge was perfectly clean and cosy and plenty of room for everyone. Thoroughly enjoyed it and would absolutely have no hesitation in recommending the lodge .

Everything we hoped for
I booked this for a bunch of guys who have a learning disability for their yearly holiday. The owner met us on arrival and was excellent with the men, showing compassion and taking his time to talk/interact with them. He was on hand for any queries we had and for a friendly chat. House was amazing and very clean and spacious giving the group everything we needed. The guys have said a massive thank you and they will definitely be back.

Lovely weekend away
We had a fantastic stay in this beautiful house & grounds. It’s situated quite central in Southern Ireland so is great as a base to explore the rest of the country

amazing place in a beutiful area,very friendly hosts
heron lodge is a great place to stay,in a very tranquil spot.if you want peace and quiet spending quality time with family this is the place for you.my wife and I and 3 children with partners plus 7 grandchildren up to age of 6 loved it.children loved the freedom of space at the rear,and feeding the fish in lake at the front.evenings can be spent at the nearby pubs.there are great days out with activities on local lakes,and quaint towns a short drive away.john the host is very helpful and accomidating nothing too much trouble.i would recommend having a vehicle to fully appreciate what is around.i will definitely come back .the house is very spacious and well planned.

Heron’s Lodge is located in Rooskey, County Roscommon. The town of Rooskey is a short drive away and offers places to eat, drink and local live music. A stones throw from the River Shannon and a short drive or train journey from many other activities from historical landmarks, breathtaking areas of natural beauty, golfing, fishing, horse riding and many water and adventure activities. The house is located quiet area, which see’s little traffic and few neighbours so we are not overlooked, apart from the donkeys in the top field.
