A unique castle experience in Scotland! When we traveled around Scotland in 2014 we were disappointed that we could not find a castle that 'felt like a castle' once inside. When we saw Kilmartin Castle for sale, it had been a ruin for 200 years and was in an incredibly original state. Typically, the Victorians would make the windows larger and add ugly extensions to buildings like this one. Luckily, Kilmartin Castle was overlooked and left roofless for 200 years. It was the perfect building to create the genuine Scottish castle experience we had been looking for as travellers. We quit our jobs, sold everything we owned, and moved across the world to start renovations. Work finished in 2019 and Kilmartin Castle now has 5 bedrooms that have been individually designed to provide modern-day...A unique castle experience in Scotland! Work finished in 2019 and Kilmartin Castle now has 5 bedrooms that have been individually designed to provide modern-day luxury including copper tubs and wood-burning stoves, walk-in rain showers, underfloor heating, and of course, luxury linen, towels and robes! The grand hall is the heart of the castle, with a roaring fire to share stories around in the evenings. Our kitchen has been designed with sociability in mind and is a great place to cook as a group. The kitchen has everything you will need to cook up a feast and the barrel-vaulted dining room is a special place to enjoy dinner. We can also introduce you to our private chef if you would like to take the night off! This castle is not purely a holiday home, but our home, and we love sharing with people who appreciate these old buildings being brought back to life! Kilmartin Castle is now open as a luxury bed and breakfast throughout 2021, offering exclusive stays to groups of up to 10 people. From 2022 we will no longer be offering bed and breakfast, only exclusive stays. THE AREA Kilmartin Castle sits over Kilmartin Glen, one of the most important archeological areas in Scotland. The Glen is glacial and human inhabitation dates back to the neolithic period. Standing stones are dotted around the landscape and have been here longer than the pyramids in Egypt. The local pub, serving dinner, is a traditional Scottish pub, and within walking distance of the castle. PRICES Please reach out for prices of bed and breakfast rooms. They start from £190 per night including a 2-course breakfast. Vegan and vegetarian options are always available. We have a 2-night minimum stay at the bed and breakfast. Magical Place

We booked the castle for my Wifes 50th Birthday, and we had a great time. With no TV and just the radio it was like stepping back in time, very relaxing. Although you can get a sinal on your phone in parts of the castle...More

Amazing castle experience! A must do!

Simply amazing. Allround. You get the full castle exprience at the luxury of your own private castle. Spacious, authentic, clean and a lovely host who provided wine, bread, cookies... upon arrival.
