There's unlimited-use, fast broadband wifi and flat-screen TV. There's an Apple TV box that lets you stream video from your Apple device - including BBsee i9layer from the i9layer app. You can also view N3tflix, or sign in to your i7unes account to download the latest movies and TV shows (remember to sign out before you leave). The west-facing garden has a table and chairs, so on nice evenings you can sit outside with a dram, watching the sunset over the Isle of Jura. You'll find basic provisions here when you arrive - tea, coffee etc, and maybe a bottle of something to enjoy with dinner.More

About the neighbourhood
Kilmartin is the home of Dalriada, seat of ancient kings and often known as the cradle of Scottish civilisation. Here you'll find countless historical sites, including multiple cairns and mysterious standing stones within walking-distance of the cottage. Kilmartin Hotel with its cosy bar and good food, and the Kilmartin Museum are just a mile away, while the charming loch-side town of Lochgilphead is just five miles away. There you'll find everything you need, including many charming independent shops, pubs, a great fish-and-chips shop, a supermarket and swimming pool. The beautifully set settlement of Crinan is just a short drive away, where you'll find the Crinan Hotel, famous for its superb seafood and eyepopping views.
How to get there
From Lochgilphead, take the A816 towards Oban. Six miles from Lochgilphead, look out for the brown tourist sign for Dunchraigaig on your right. The cottage is another few-hundred yards beyond this, and has a 'Cairns Cottage' sign on the gate that you can see from the road; there's a little lane up the side, signposted 'Dunmhor'. Drive up the lane and turn right to park your car in front of the garage. You'll see the entrance to Cairns Cottage. There's an electric light above the door there - the keys are on top of this. You'll need a car to get here, but once you're here you could easily leave it behind and take advantage of the world-class walking all around. You'll find maps and local info here so you can make the most of your time.
