The property is surrounded on a wider scale by the delights of the English Lake District, where marshes and rolling hills stretch onto the horizon, presenting seemingly limitless opportunities for family walks bird watching, touring and hikes, and with access also to the beauty of Southern Scotland. The Grey House Annexe is an ideal location for your Summer or Winter Holiday and is perfect for a comfortable Short Break or as a base for visiting friends. Find us on Facebook The Grey House Annexe for more details. The Grey House Annexe is a secluded and deceptively spacious one bedroom fully self contained annexe to the rear of the owners' sea front home; it has its own entrance to the property and is fully fenced and private. It is situated in the Victorian resort of Silloth – on – Solway located on the West Cumbrian Coastline. Literally a minutes' walk from the delightful promenade which looks over the Solway Firth. The sunsets here are wonderful, claim a bench and sit and watch the sun go down. Walk to Grune Point on the marshes and enjoy the scenery or find a quiet space to watch the amazing bird life we have on the Solway coast. Silloth is a quiet seaside town which has been here since the late 19th century and is little changed; it has a wonderful and unspoiled green which runs the length of the town. Silloth suits those looking for a quieter holiday, we have none of the bustle of busy seaside resorts and you can find peace and quiet all year round. The gas centrally heated & double glazed accommodation, comprises one double bedroom, decorated in pretty Laura Ashley wallpaper and with matching curtains, it has a super-king size Sealy bed with good quality bedding, feather duvet and both feather and non-feather pillows. It has lovely honey pine furnishings, large 3 door wardrobe, chest of drawers and dressing table and matching bed side cabinets. Windows to two sides with views over the garden. A hallway with hanging space, spacious sitting room with comfortable three piece suite and large flat screen television with all sky channels, including movies and sport for those quieter evenings a DVD player and collection of DVD's, and books. This is a warm airy and comfortable room with a cosy electric fire and a view of the woods. Glass double doors to dining room with table and 4 chairs in case you are coming to see friends, sideboard with lots of information on things to do locally, games, tennis rackets etc, fully fitted kitchen with new electric cooker, shower room with double walk in electric shower with seat and handrail and separate toilet. It has a small private and fully fenced secure garden with garden furniture, on road parking by the annexe entrance and there is easy access to the local shops, eateries, golf club and some lovely coffee shops. One dog is welcome and this is a wonderful place for walks - they even get their own welcome box. The house is adjacent to an old pine wood and the annexe has lots of garden birds and even the occasional resident hedgehog. The annexe is deceptively large and is decorated to a high standard. It has comfortable furnishings to allow you to unwind and enjoy the peace and quiet, it is an ideal hideaway. We provide all bed-linen, towels, tea towels, beach towels and a welcome tray for your arrival cup of tea. We are about 45 minutes from Keswick and Southern Scotland so you can have the beauty of the English Lake District without the crowds, there are lots of things to do locally and Silloth has many festivals during the summer. Fully equipped with everything you need the accommodation includes full gas central heating, towels, bedding, Wi-Fi, Flat Screen TV with Sky , DVD and a collection of DVD's, books and games. Tennis rackets for the sea front court, puzzles, magazines and umbrellas for those inclement days. A well equipped kitchen for those who love to cook and fridge freezer, microwave, iron and ironing board and access to a washing machine. Secure storage for bicycles if needed. The annexe is lovely winter and summer alike – for your winter breaks the warm accommodation will allow you to forget the weather and enjoy the comfort. 2018 4 - 17 April and 29/4 - 01/5 Craft Fair on the Green 27/28 May Green Day 10 - 11 June Silloth Vintage Rally on the Green 26 - 28 August Silloth Carnival 07 – 10 Sept Silloth Beer FestivalMore

About the neighbourhood
There are lots of events through the year both locally and wider afield, lots of information on things to do is available in the annexe but many of our guests take the opportunity to relax and re-charge their batteries with walks on the promenade and time to watch the sun go down over Criffel Mountain in Scotland.
Getting around
A car is recommended for getting around although there are local busses these are limited. You can get the bus to Maryport, Workington, Wigton and Carlisle.
