About the neighbourhood
Southwell is often described as the jewel in Nottinghamshire’s crown. It’s beautiful Minster dominates the town and countryside beyond. There are lots of independent shops cafes and restaurants. A market twice a week and the locals are a friendly bunch too! Further afield England’s most famous outlaw is said to have lived at the Major Oak in Sherwood Forest and there are plenty of bike riding, horse riding, hiking swimming and adventures to find locally. Lavender Cottage is ideally situated as a base to explore and yet be totally relaxed in your surroundings all is brand new this year and we’re sure you’ll love it!
Getting around
Getting around on foot or bike is easiest in Southwell All amenities are close by just a short walk through the park behind the cottage We can provide a lockable store if you wish to bring bikes. The Southwell trail, sherwood pines and Sherwood Forest to visit Robin Hoods major oak are a must whilst in town!
