Fishing is available in two small lochs on the owners land at no extra cost (please ask for details) and there are plenty of walks from your doorstep. Keep your eyes open in the evening and morning as the red deer gather in the fields just near the house, osprey fish in the two small lochs and otters live in the burn nearby. There are also foxes, red legged partridges, hares and ducks on the ponds. Invergordon is about 2 miles away for shopping, and there are plenty of distilleries, golf courses, walks etc. to keep you busy and is a regular stopping off point for the cruise ships, as it boasts one of the deepest natural harbours in Europe. Booked together with Hawthorn Cottage, Woodpeckers Nest, Juniper Cottage or Heathfield House, a larger party could be accommodated.More

Location of the cottage was appropriate for us. It’s maintained in the pristine condition. Despite of the remote location, the cottage is very well managed.

About the neighbourhood
The cottages have the best of both worlds - peace and tranquility on private farmland but within easy distance of the bustling towns of Invergordon and Alness. Invergordon has one of the deepest natural harbours in Europe and was used in both World Wars as a safe haven for warships - these days their place has been taken by cruise ships who regularly visit during the Summer months. You can regularly see deer around the cottages, the osprey likes to help itself to the fish in the lochs nearby and this summer the otters moved into the burn so keep your eyes peeled. Take a stroll along the lanes, in the summer wild raspberries grow in abundance and in the autumn the trees are heavy with sloe berries
How to get there
Car hire is available locally or at Inverness airport and Just off the North Coast 500 tourist route so easy access to all the local beauty spots and activities the Highlands have to offer.
