Sir Georges place a row of victorian workers cottages
An archway in the middle of the sir georges place  leads to mill cottage - down a twitten.
A stable door leads to a cosy sitting room with low ceilings and beams. Not suitable for tall people
An electric wood burner to keep you snug and take the chill off on an evening.
A small breakfast bar and loads of hidden storage with plenty to keep you entertained.
Country kitchen with all the mod cons
Front windows which open out overlooking cottage gardens with the noise of the mill stream close by.
All towels and bedroom and bathroom essentials are provided.  Travel cot can be provided on request.

The cottage is a self check in but we are available and close to hand within 5 miles of the cottage and we are happy to help whenever possible guests just need to call/text/mail us during their stay and we will pop over at short notice if needed.

It’s our 2nd visit here and we adore it! The cottage is quaint, cosy, tastefully furnished, compact yet very well equipped and restful. Fiona is a helpful host too. Hoping to be return next year ❤️

Lovely, idyllic cottage. Clean, comfortable beds, all facilities you need. Great location, just behind the high street. Loved it all!

About the neighbourhood
Steyning is pretty well preserved. There are still plenty of old buildings in Steyning including Tudor style half timbered houses and some smart Georgian town houses too.
Sir Georges Place is a row of victorian tannery workers cottages and Mill cottage is located through an archway and down a twitten/path which takes you over a mill stream and across to Mouse Lane.
Mill cottage is a mid-terraced georgian cottage with low ceilings and beams oozing character and charm. With the backdrop of the surrounding cottage gardens and the ever present hum of the mill stream it is the perfect location for a relaxing weekend away , mid-week short break or as a base to explore the beautiful South downs and sussex coast.
Getting around
The closest train station is at Shoreham-by-Sea on a direct link to London Victoria. There are regular busus in/out of Brighton ans well as local buses covering the West Sussex towns and villages from Burgess Hill to Horsham. Gatwick airport is close by within a 30 minute drive.

From the North using the A24, or from the south using the A27, you need to follow the signs to Steyning , take the A283 and then follow the signs into the town centre / along the high street . If you are approaching Steyning town from the north , once you have entered the town and passed the leisure centre on your left please slow down as the 2nd road on your right is Sir George’s Place.If you are approaching Steyning town from the south , you need to drive through the town centre and once you see the Fire Station on your left hand side you need to slow down as the next road on your left is Sir George’s Place. You need to turn into Sir George’s Place and mill cottage is on the right hand side through the archway.
