The cottage is a self check in but we are available and close to hand within 5 miles of the cottage and we are happy to help whenever possible guests just need to call/text/mail us during their stay and we will pop over at short notice if needed.

Such a characterful place to stay, lovely sitting reading/painting while the morning sun shines in through the stable door! And the old floor is gorgeous.

This was a beautiful little cottage in the heart of Steyning. Very well laid out, super cosy and comfortable and Fiona the owner is very accommodating and helpful. Great place that we'll be coming back to again for sure!

My wife and I had a great stay at the cottage over the bank holiday weekend. Easy to reach various sights in and around the downs and nice to be able to walk into the town for a drink or breakfast/dinner. Would definitely stay again

About the neighbourhood
Steyning is pretty well preserved. There are still plenty of old buildings in Steyning including Tudor style half timbered houses and some smart Georgian town houses too. Sir Georges Place is a row of victorian tannery workers cottages and Mill cottage is located through an archway and down a twitten/path which takes you over a mill stream and across to Mouse Lane. Mill cottage is a mid-terraced georgian cottage with low ceilings and beams oozing character and charm. With the backdrop of the surrounding cottage gardens and the ever present hum of the mill stream it is the perfect location for a relaxing weekend away , mid-week short break or as a base to explore the beautiful South downs and sussex coast.
Getting around
The closest train station is at Shoreham-by-Sea on a direct link to London Victoria. There are regular busus in/out of Brighton ans well as local buses covering the West Sussex towns and villages from Burgess Hill to Horsham. Gatwick airport is close by within a 30 minute drive.
