About the neighbourhood
Park Cottage is located in the quiet countryside, just 2 km from the historic thermal spa town of Salies de Béarn (which is also famous for its salt), and surrounded by Domaine Lavie’s 7 acres of grounds and gardens waiting to be explored. Salies is a thriving town with a range of shops, lively cafés and bars and several excellent restaurants. The bustling market takes place on Thursday morning and you can pick up some local Brebis cheese or Bayonne ham along with your fresh fruit and veg. Enjoy a stroll through the flower filled lanes or up to the Pain du Sucre to meet the llamas, donkeys and goats grazing there and take in the view over Salies to really appreciate the beautiful Béarnaise architecture.
Getting around
There is so much to see and do in the area that a car really is essential to make the most of your visit to this beautiful corner of France.
