Our family has been holidaying at 'Westdene' for three generations and it just gets better every year! Whatever time you choose to visit this unique part of Suffolk, there is a never ending list of things to do. For families there's our huge garden and all the attractions of Thorpeness are within walking distance; the Meare, where you can hire boats and explore the many islands, the Windmill, House in the Clouds, tennis courts at the Country Club and of course the beach. About the neighbourhood
So much to do for young and old in this unique and beautiful village. There's the boating lake, where you can hire punts, small sailing dinghies, rowing boats and canoes or kayaks; the challenging local golf club; tennis; the Dolphin Inn, with garden and great food; the stunning beach; nearby Aldeburgh, packed with great shops and restaurants and the best fish and chips; this area is also famous for bird-watching - but I don't know much about this subject - sorry. At the house we have dvd and book library, board games, table tennis, football goal and the open fire to curl up in front of.
